After reading the discussion and seeing the pics of the many different ways to pull poses, what basing grips do you use?

We have the side base facing the front with both hands under the foot - the flyer is directly over the side base. The main base has an open finger grip with the middle finger facing forward. The back has right hand on ankle and left hand under the heel.

That's why I posted :) To get an idea of what everyone else is doing. At our gym we teach that as the only correct way to grip and everything else is wrong. So there is more than one correct technique.

I'm gonna look for pictures on how we do it cause it's easier than explaining!

Stunting this way makes the transition to two mans much easier. The side base always faces the front.

A picture would be awesome. That is not the grip that most people use.

Oh never mind, that's not what we do. That really is different. I feel like I've seen high schools use that grip before. Where one base can see the crowd.

This is what I've always been taught. Main base is pretty self explanatory. Side base sandwiches top and bottom of the foot with the top thumb under the foot to give more support.

When someone is single basing a stunt... do you call them a side base? Just curious.

That is what we use. I never understood hamburger grip... it means you have to bend one arm and how does a hand on top lift anything up?

For me, it really helps keep the foot more stable. I don't ever remember having to bend my arm using that grip either

I actually never call them the side base - just said it on here cause thats what most people call them. I call it the under base and then the 'main base' the - other base.

That hamburger grip always makes the foot roll in too.
