I had a teacher named Merry Berry. She as really nice.

I went to school with people with tragic names (Lowundafa)....my mom teaches students with tragic names...and I've heard my fair share of tragic names at the university where I am a librarian (like Quay-Quay).

Generally they don't even amuse me because...its sad that they are going to have to put that one resumes and applications....

I also hate when people use those urban legend awful names (Shithead, Orangejello, Lemonjello, L-sha) etc and swear that "know somebody that knows somebody that met this person in first grade.

Lies. Theres no way everyone in the nation has heard the same names with the same degrees of association lol.

Plus I heard those names when I was in elementary school in the 90s....but...if you do a people search for those names on Facebook you get...no people. Shithead, Lemonjello, L-sha and the gang should have facebook by now...

In my family, one of the last names is 'Case.' My some relative I don't know how I'm related to, decided to name my 'cousin' Justin. So his name is Justin Case. (Just think about that one for a moment lol)

I knew a girl in my college named 'Turquoise' and one named 'Diamond.' I'm sorry, but I think some of the names I've heard for kids are RIDICULOUS (although Turquoise was AMAZING at spoken word. I felt so bad she couldn't afford college anymore :(.) Queen, Diamond, Tiara, Princess..your child may be that to YOU, but to me she was that annoying girl in my Tuesday lit class who was always late and always SHRIEKED every time her friend came in. It was like a bad parody..

That reminds me! My son also played soccer with a boy named Golden and his little brother's name was Prince. Courvorsier's sister (or maybe it was a cousin) was Unique. I wish i could remember the rest of their names; they were ALL just. not. right.

http://ca.shine.yahoo.com/10-illegal-baby-names.html - this is an article i read yesterday some of these names have now become outlawed and some have still stayed in place, here is a little taste
"Has New Zealand banned any other names? Oh yes. The judge listed some that were also blocked: Fish and Chips (twins), Yeah Detroit, Keenan Got Lucy. Number 16 Bus Shelter and Violence were allowed."

"Sweden banned any other names? Oh yes. Some favourites include Metallica, IKEA, Veranda and Q. Google was OK though."

uhm yeah..

I love it! My older sister went to school with Queenie, and I worked with Remy and his Mom, Mrs. Martin.

...These parents DO realize that statistical evidence has shown that having over-the-top unique names has lasting effects on the child, usually due to teasing because their NAME IS RIDICULOUS? Seriously. Stop trying to use a name to cover up the fact that your child might never be anything more than ordinary. Calling her 'Star' doesn't mean she'll be one.

I went to school with a few hard to pronounce names. We had Shawqi Neshawait (Shou-kee Nesh-uh-wait) and Mecki Ghabarou (Meck-ee Gab-uh-roo), I loved watching substitutes struggle to pronounce their names. There's a professor at my college who's last name is McFail. Yes, McFail. And from what I hear, he is a terrible teacher.... figures. My favorite band has some weird name for their children; Bandit Lee Way and the twins, Lily and Cherry Iero. I've seen various ways of spelling my name (Suzie) but the weirdest way I've seen, by far was "Souxziye"... Like, is that even necessary? No, it's not. I question people's abilities to properly name children sometimes.
