Are EPs required to give out all of the at-large bids they advertise? Because from the looks of it so far, this comp is going to be a battle of the current at-large bids for the paid and then a freebie give away of some of the at-large bids. If Podunk all stars is smart (from a business point of view) they will remove all their 11and unders from their 4.2 (or 3 or 4 or insert any team) and enter as a 5. That bid is fantastic advertising for the following season. Seriously...I know we would have thought "wow, they qualified for worlds!" when we first were looking for cheer gyms. Additionally, most of the families/athletes would probably be thrilled to have the worlds experience even if they were one and out on Friday.
Unfortunately the final schedule is not out and almost everyone on the Boards has their numbers completely OFF. Just so we are CLEAR and the rumor mill can STOP let me get to the actual numbers. There are currently 17 International Teams and 16 Senior teams registered for Worlds and That is a total of 33 teams vying for bids. There are over 230 teams registered for this event. How some on this board believe those numbers does not mean JAMZ should not have 2 Paid Bids is beyond me when there are event producers offering bids that get waivers every year because they fail to meet numbers. We have exceeded our numbers every year since we first started offering bids to the Worlds. In fact based upon our numbers this year we could offer 3 Paid Bids if we wanted.

Please remember under our bid distribution system if 2 PAID bids go to the seniors then we are only required to give 1 at-large bid to the senior teams. Also, Please remember we one of very few Event Producers that can say we have given our Paid Bid to a different team every year. Not based on preference or how many teams they brought to us but based on what they put out on the Floor!

I wish they'd put their schedule out, registration's been closed for a while now....people do have work and school to work around. Even if it's a rough draft
Schedule will be out Wednesday! While registration has been closed a while as many coaches know, JAMZ tries to accommodate teams as best as we can so sometimes the schedule gets delayed. Please bear with us. :)

Dear Jamz, I know you put a lot work into your after comp variety show extravaganza...but please dont make us sit there and watch it again.....it's just too darn late and we just wanna get out of there, we don't like fun and games. We just want the awards ceremony. It's not you it's me.......I would say this to Jammy too.
Thanks for your comments. We actually change our show every year. We understand there are a few people who do not like the show but there are just as many people who enjoy it and look forward to it. We will run a very quick show and entertain our guest then get down to the awards as quick as possible. :)

I dont think any one is saying you as an EP shouldnt give out the bids, actually we would love for you to give out that third paid bid. Your growth is amzing and that's what keep many going back. We're just talking about who's going and from the responses it appears most of the teams attending already have a bid. I had no idea there are so many teams without bids. Another issue and its not just JAMZ by any means, its everyone. No one understands why EP's limit what type of bids International teams can win, especially since it's a growing division in this area.

There's comments about the next Bid comp in So Cal too. I think if people didnt like your event your numbers would decline and every year they go up. About the performance, I'm sorry I've never heard anyone say they like it, but if you get comments that people like it, then I'm wrong. One thing I'd like to say is thank you for even responding to these comments. That's nice and refreshing and I wish more EP's would do that.

Cant' wait to see the schedule=)

No problem. I agree there is a large amount of bids that are going out your voice is not alone among the people who want to decrease the amount of at-large bids. However, I think it is not the EPs that are stopping this from happening.

Hey it is my pleasure to comment and respond when I have time. We love everyone's feedback (negative and positive) as it helps us have a better event. All of you, coaches, parents, and competitors are out customers.

I have always said that the more the international market grows the more bids we will give out. We were one of the first event producers to guarantee a bid in International Level 6 because we saw a need to increase that market.

Based on the numbers from this year I admit there will be a definite change in 2013 regarding our bid distribution.

WestCoastCheer man this is a tough room... While our gym isn't going.. You gave our team a paid bid last year... Jamz is one of my all time favorite events... You take the time and effort to make it special for the kids... I'm giving you no complaining... I'm sure a simple thank you will be good..:). Thank you!!!!

Does Jamz still have the open bar/cash bar for the coaches during the competition?
UMMM.... let's not give away all of our secrets now. LOL!! Put it like this.... The things we do for our coaches during Nationals will only get BETTER in 2012. ;) So yes our Coaches Happy Hour will continue. But it is a small happy hour for a few hours like always.

I think this brings up a good question to ask: As a cheer parent or gym owner, how would you feel knowing that the competition company is serving alcohol to coaches as they are possibly coaching kids?

i don't think this has to do with the EP offering it, but more about if the coaches are choosing to partake while they are still working with the kids/ teams.

So you are comfortable with them offering it? I guess I have been there in the coaches area where they offer it as the regular coaches viewing area and such was up there and I will say that beyond the fact that I don't agree with it because they are just encouraging the behavior, I did not like the fact that I watched as they did not card coaches. This to me is an accident waiting to happen. Morally or not as an adult you or I may not partake, but that was not stopping underage athletes/coaches from doing it. Then after coaching their younger teams they would suit up and perform on international teams. I just think its a lawsuit waiting to happen. Does that make sense?
