@cheerUPDATES: guess WHO got first.

if i were on jersey, i'd be one unhappy kid right now.. :(

i know plenty of people are trying to justify why rockstar chose level 2, but i don't get it. they chose level 2, because with 12 practices it was the "easiest" routine to make. but if you have level 3/4/5 skills wouldn't even a level 3 routine be just as "easy?" i am trying to give them the benefit of the doubt, but this just doesn't sit right with me.

Really disappointed that a gym like Rockstar either thought we were all stupid and wouldn't notice or really didn't care if we did. Lead by example...all of these kids are working hard, all of their parents are paying the bill, it would be respectful for all involved if each team competed the correct division.

Really? Taking a bunch of level 3-5 kids and making a level 2 team isn't an issue worth discussing?

If it's just for the "experience" let them be an exhibition team...or compete in level 4. But maybe that's not the experience they're looking for.

I've got a lot of respect for Rockstar and I think they've done an amazing job. But this is wrong.
Yes, really... read my post again. I was stating that the issue needs to be put in a seperate thread to keep this thread strictly towards discussing/viewing great level 2 teams.

I don't understand this thought process? Who cares if a kid has a full on a level 2 team? They can't throw it anyway. For all of you complaining about our Junior 2, we have FAR more level 1 kids crossing on it than level 5's. Secondly, we are a smaller gym and just because they fly on a level 5 team does not make them really level 5. It means we had a need and filled it with the best available option. It is further proof people would rather pull you down than elevate their game.

The scoresheet is the same for all teams, hit the sheet, win. Rules are the same for everyone. It does not matter what you can do theoretically, everyone is held to the same standards.

The difference is that, in theory, a cheerleader with level 3, 4, or 5 skills is at that level because they have perfected their level 2+ skills. Are you saying you have level 2 cheerleaders on your level 5 teams? I've seen your level 5's, they are very good, so I doubt that.

A true level 2 team usually has kids at different stages of development within that skill range and are striving to be the best at that level. If they had higher level skills a good coach would be raising the bar and pushing them to compete level 3. Perhaps if we had seen Level 1 skills thrown at Cheersport, your argument about the composition of the team would be more persuasive.

I am not pulling anyone down or elevating anyone and I don't believe anyone else that posted here from outside the teams directly affected is doing that either. I don't know anybody on your teams or any team that competed against you. My position is based solely on principle and on my sympathy for the kids that went to Cheersport with a true level 2 team, expecting a fair chance to compete against true peers.

We have kids on restricted 5 that really only tumble level 2 or 3. None of our worlds kids cross down that far. We use them as fill ins as needed but I don't believe it is good for the team to drop down and put themselves at risk of injury. It is also hard to motivate them to do level 2 or 3.

It still does not change the fact that level 2 is level 2. If they are performing a backhandspring it should be polished no matter what true level they are. They are judged the same. I have been on both sides of this argument and at the end of the day, you still have to execute. So should we keep all of our kids home because we had to use 2 level 5's? Would you like to be the person to walk in the room and tell the parents, sorry cancelling Dallas because some gym complained we used Suzie level 5 because we needed a flyer?

We are playing by the rules, if you don't like them, write to the rules board and change the rules. Our kids read this and see it as you are bashing them. As far as I know Rockstar did not break any rules, I know we didn't at Sparks. I am sorry if you don't like it but there truly are only 2 kids that can tumble and stunt level 5 and they are there out of necessity. I find it hard to believe that many of these programs aren't crossing a few kids from higher level teams.
