Exactly my point...Ultimate Fan....an assumption was made here...new poster but not new to Fierce Boards. I do not care if you find this coincidental or not. That is really irrelevant to my stating my opinion.

So again, I ask you all to stop trashing someone's reputation because you do not like actions you deem unethical, but are within the rules. So you all do not agree, that is your right, you have stated it, so now stop the negativity.

I do not always agree with what others post, say, or do. Your point has been made, and again, time to move on. Turn the negativity into something positive and constructive and make a real difference.

I just wonder .... what will these gyms that are being questioned do next year?? Was the excitement so great when the kids and parents came home from these competitions with those amazing jackets that they will all be begging to do it next year?? Or was the backlash just too much and they won't do it again??

Acedad doesn't know. Can anyone give me a rough estimate? I need this to get SWAG pricing on badge services.

I'm pretty sure that kingston had a pretty good idea when he put together his whole shoe tag scanning process a couple years ago.

As a parent of an athlete whose team placed just after the first & second place teams that dropped 2 & 1 levels respectively in our division at NCA, I am more than happy to see this thread and the other staying active! I appreciate the efforts of all those who are diligently working on coming up with a solution.

Just a note that unethical and illegal are two different things.

Again, I don't know enough details on this particular case to have an opinion, but fear of this type of backlash is really the only deterrent.

Wow are we still on this!!! This has turned into a complete circus, tents included. I understand that this is an issue that needs to be handled but there is a thread for that now so lets move talks over there. Another thing is while I do not agree with what Rockstar, everybody bashing them is not alright. Your upset, that is fine but this is just too much. Whats done is done and at this point the argument is becoming a never ending circle that has only become more negative with each post. So lets end just end the bashing and move the talk of sandbagging to the new thread.

Please don't lump all cheer parents into one group. I personally would rather stay at our small gym that has only won an NCA jacket once (and neither of my 2 CPs were on that team) then go to a larger gym that has won an NCA jacket 5 years in a row. My goal for having my daughters in competitive cheer is not to win jackets but to learn valuable life lessons. Don't get me wrong, I would love for my daughters to win an NCA jacket, however the challenges that they face at a small gym is preparing them more for the challenges that they will face later on in life than winning multiple jackets.

I def know there are still moms and dads wanting a solid place for their CP to grow and learn the intangibles. Maybe I should have used more than a handful instead. Haha. It blew my mind to hear a mom justify sandbagging by saying "it's all about the jacket!" I'm fairly certain Kevin would give anyone a CS jacket if they tried hard enough. But the memories and meaning would never be the same

I don't think a lot of bashing is taking place at this point. Disagreement and people questioning decisions, yes, but I think we are past the point of bashing and moving forward to making changes-something that is extremely important and useful. For a conversation that has a very personal impact of many people here, I am actually surprised this has been as helpful as it has been.

It happened, they have their jackets. We are now looking into ways to make the sport as a whole more fair for everyone involved and move us all forward into a legitimate sport where things like this do not occur. It is not against the rules now, but it might be someday. These are discussions that never took place in the past when decisions were made for cheer, and I'm glad we can at least voice concerns and come up with solutions that may eventually take root.

Andre, kingston...still looking for someone who can give me a rough estimate of the numbers of athletes governed under USASF rules. I have an RFP stuck in limbo waiting for this.....and don't have even the slightest clue whether it is 10,000 or 100,000, more, less, somewhere in-between.
