You know what I love about hot 5... It's their second year ever.. Their coach is brilliant and she loves Cheerleading more than anyone I've ever met. I had the pleasure of watching her senior 3 team warmup and even though my two daughters were the next team on the mat I found myself scrambling for a pen to take notes on everything I didn't know was legal at level 3 in stunting... They were breath taking. Caleigh knows a scoresheet and more importantly her kids adore her... Those two ingredients alone insure success. My first encounter with her he actually was moved to tears over a girl
Getting around for the first time ever in a double down. That experience was slightly over a year ago and now she has a full paid bid... I wouldn't put any limit on the dreams of this gym. Congrats on an inspirational journey of hardship that precluded this weekends big win..only the kids on that team quite know how much that bid represents about their relentless pursuit of a dream. I know I shed a tear at their awards.. Well deserved

Love how this comment was posted RIGHT after a few unpleasant ones .. =) LOVE MY FEARLESS HOT 5! <3

not to be rude (because i absolutely love Jersey Allstars), but i dont think they were ready AS A WHOLE to go i5. even though stunts are most of the points in the division, throwing only 6 fulls in running tumbling and one full in standing, it wasnt a smart move. however, i do understand (from a coaches perspective) that pushing level 4 athletes to go level 5 is very hard and challenging. unfortunately, i think going restricted would have given them a better season overall!

That was a thought, but our coaches felt that we would score better on an international score sheet. It also allowed some of our girls that aged out but still wanted to cheer a position on the team. It's been a pretty rough journey as a first year level 5 team but we're trying to build up a base for a stronger level 5 team next year. :)

I completely agree, it also looked like half of the team doesn't have jumps to tuck a simple level 5 skill but hopefully this year will be a building year for this team and next year they will have more of majority but they still killed tho stunts pretty good job

The thought (as krystynakrez) stated was that the International scoresheet would have some forgiveness as far as the tumbling. We also had some girls that aged-out with the tumbling that still wanted to cheer. We figured that putting out an I5 team would get the girls that are close to 5 tumbling skills the experience of throwing them, plus give all the girls experience with the stunting (which seems to come easier for them anyway). That team did not have the full competition schedule that the rest of our teams had. In fact, they only had 2 bid competitions in which if they got a bid, great...if not, well, they're a first year team without a lot of tumbling.

Restricted 5 is not out of the realm of possibility for the future, but for a first year level 5, Sapphires have made us all proud.

they're looking so good. so proud of this team.

and those two boys who tumble together (whip fulls or double?).. just so perfectly synched and beautiful technique. love them.
Thank you so much!!!!

HONESTLY JEFF WOULD BE SO PROUD OF ALL YOU GUYS FOR COMING THIS FAR WITH YOUR HEADS HELD HIGH AND KILLING THIS ROUTINE HARD!!! HES DEFF IS SMILING <3
Thank you sooo much!!! It has definitely been hard without a key member of our team <33333 but we know he would definitely be proud and he is always smiling down on us <33333
