All-Star Usasf Major Changes

Sandbagging, excessive use of crossovers and placing athletes in inappropriate age divisions are all commonly practiced within the allstar cheerleading world and actively work to hinder the progression and legitimacy of our sport.

But, I truly believe none of the aforementioned "wrongdoings" are as damaging as the potential effects of these new rule proposals. I cannot fathom how anyone can begin to defend the banning of certain level 5 tumbling skills as a means to safeguard and improve this sport.

I have seen several states ban the more advanced skills in high school cheerleading in "the name of safety", only to watch the popularity and competitiveness of high school cheerleading within these states to die out.

I try to remain levelheaded concerning such hot button issues on these boards, but I cannot help from being outraged and devastated. Outraged at whomever thought this would be good idea and devastated for the future of allstar cheerleading. I think everyone needs to take a second and think about the longterm implications of these rule changes.

everyone obviously already said most of what i'm thinking..

but hey, it just got a whole lot easier for level5 sync tumbling. and you now have some extra 8 counts to use elsewhere since the tumbling section can be covered in the full team fulls.

you can now also be on youth 5, junior 5, and senior 5 in the same season. not sure how i feel about that as i'm sure some gyms will use it to their full advantage...but at least they won't be competing those dangerous standing fulls, only competing 3 times a day ;)

oy vey.

Regarding the uniforms.. I am going to say the majority buy them every other/every three years..so if THIS is your year to buy... then you are stuck either buying full tops this year or know that you are going to have to start all over again. This is an added expense to PREVENT people from participating. Lots at our gym buy used uniforms of girls who have aged out. Just another added expense.........

Did anyone else find it disturbing where it stated males should be less theatrical and exagerated?!? In a sport with kids always being bullied and everyone saying just be yoursrlf now the heads of the industry are telling ppl, males sprcifically not to be themselves. Way to represent ... NOT

PS they should take a look at the coaches pushing the kids who arnt ready, don't take away from the hard work of the kids.

I think we should have a lockout like the nba .. Boycott all events till things change lol
