woah did not see that tweet from stingrays coming....
I love the Stingrays. LOVE them. I would relocate to Marietta in a heartbeat if they offered me a janitor position at their gym. But I was a little surprised by that tweet as well. Im all for making safety changes in tumbling. Proper coaching, etc. But really? To make the changes the way USASF did is wrong. Simply wrong. There was no communication. This is why there are so many problems. We can go on and on about EP's only caring about money, wanting to grow the sport, being anti- whatever, but until we learn to work together as gym owners, EPs, and coaches, its only going to get more hectic. I cannot stand behind the USASF because they did something extremely drastic behind our backs. And that shows me that we do not have a voice in this industry at all.

A friend of a friend made this. Awesome!

Well, if nothing else...some good has come of this. My shimmy count went up lol

There's change blowing in the wind. Overhall of usasf, split from usasf, change of board of directors? Who knows, but there will be change. I'm hoping it is all for the good. I think it's strengthened the bonds between us, which is never bad.

I sincerely hope you are right. My kids are about to loose all interest in this sport if this is upheld.

Good news everyone. I just got back from my chemistry lab and my teacher was wearing a teal shirt. She's never spoken about allstar cheerelading, but she must be part of the movement by her obvious support for all things teal, aka: everything Courtney Pope says, thinks, or does.

I don't think anyone knows how much I love this sport but it really makes me want to throw in the towel because I refuse to support such a dictatorship. You don't give us a choice, a vote, nothing just start making these crazy rules and calling specifically out to certain "groups" that they are to theatrical? what next everyone has to be blonde with blue eyes to cheer? This sounds like an organization I don't want to be apart of. and it kills me because I love it sooooo much and have been in it for 12 years!

"There were no double fulls and standing fulls when I fell in love with this sport. There were no crop tops. I still fell in love with cheerleading anyway. If it can happen to me, it can happen to the next generation of cheerleaders, and I for one will make sure of it." ;)
And this is why we are in love with Jamie Parrish!!!! Smart, creative, and classy.

it would make way more sense if these restrictions were simply for level 5, thus level 6 would not change at all. thats what i thought was happening...like level 6 could still do standing fulls, double doubles.....ect...
i guess not..?

We are proud to support the USASF and the new rule changes! It's in the best interest of the sport, and the only way to ensure its future.

I guess that's where I differ. As a parent, I would just assume put my money elsewhere than support this movement...is the future of this sport ensured if people quit because of this new rule?

Funny, there are some big names coming out of the woodwork to support the USASF....could the looming 2012 World's have anything to do with that? I think yes. Even if you support what USASF is supposedly "trying" to do how in the world can you support the way in which they went about it? I don't get it. Funny thing is, I don't even have a kid that will be affected by these rules next season but the way in which this happened is really unsettling to me.
