That doesnt give them the right to move on onto finals or semi finals, if prelims is all they make it past then it is what it is.
According to the rules for the international division, they satisfy the requirements and had every right to be in semis and finals.

A team still has to qualify for the olympics--and not every team from every country makes it. The US men's soccer team didn't get in to London 2012.
The qualification for competing at worlds is earning your bid, they earned a bid.

No they have every right but obviously arent anywhere near the level of the top 20 teams from the US division. So they shouldnt have made it to semis

You could tell they were so proud of their routine. The dance was AWESOME. The goal of these teams is to return every year/every other year with stronger athletes and a better routine. Hopefully this will spark some interest and cheer there can grow!

Exactly and people dont get eliminated from events because of where they are from. Has the Jamaican bobsled team medaled because they are underdogs and dont get snow?

They 100% should have been there to compete, but I have a problem with teams who barely score in the 100s, one team didn't even socre that high (something like 98.???) that get to go to FINALS because they are the only team from their country. They need to make it that the top 3 from each country (since they don't seem to want to let go of that), BUT still only take the top 10 like all the other divisions.
Let them compete in prelims and the nations cup but, the cut off should have been top 10 so teams that are only scoring barely in the 100s will get 2 times to compete but aren't going to finals. I am looking at this as a sport standpoint and it doesn't sit well with me.

I will say they looked like they were having the times of their lives which is amazing. Hard to get past the music being pieced together from other teams, but they were not the only team that did that. There was a stunt team at the ICU that had Panthers music then followed by "cheeeerrrr athletttttics". It made watching them very interesting.

Do they get to advance over teams with faster times simply because they're from Jamaica, like this team did over American teams? No. FWIW, Jamaican boblsed didn't qualify for the 2006 and 2010 games.

Everyone is comparing Worlds to the Olympics. First, only 1 team per country can qualify for the Olympics. Second, not every team that qualifies for the Olympics, will qualify for finals. Apples and oranges.

Whether is was right, wrong or whatever, i was one of the many fans that had to sit through over 2 hours of the international teams that were not very good at all. i didn't want to lose my seat so i had to sit there the whole time. i personally felt that in past years i saw teams from other countries getting better and better . but this year - yikes! not trying to be mean or disrespectful - just telling it like it is. i think our youth team could have beaten half the teams there.:(
