In the process of making mac and cheese from scratch (the cheating way), I left my pot of milk on the stove unattended while it boiled over (the one time I've EVER had that happen, it's with MILK)..I got milk ALL over my gas range which has the burners set into the oven, so I don't know how to get in there to clean. I spent an hour trying to stick my sponge in the space between the burner to sop up the excess milk. I then went to get out my favorite (and only) bowl, and ten seconds after I pulled it off the shelf, a mug that was apparently too close to the edge of the came tumbling down kamikaze-style and killed my bowl. I've had that bowl from HS 6 years ago. I am so sad :(

That and nobody will call me in for a job. I could get one as a hostess no problem, but I don't WANT that..I want to serve. Why won't anybody let me?

Kris10boo tell her to try and pull her legs around after she sets... like with her hands if that makes any since! idk it helps me to grab my calves when i throw my tuck. like this: (ignore my step its the only video i have and it was after not tumbling for 2 months.. lol)

Have you tried to lift the top of the stove up? I had a gas stove that sounds like yours. It didn't look like it came up, but it did from a ridge area about an inch down from the top of the stove. It was a mess under there once I figured out how to do it.

I'm going to try again tonight..it's a new stove too and it's so nice and I feel like poop for ruining it :(

So, anyone want to give my daughter any advice?

Well my daughter really doesn't ever work on standing tumbling or if she does it is standing tumbling she needs for her routine which is youth2. She mainly has been working on running tumbling perfecting her layout so she can keep twisting.

Well last Wednesday we went to this other gyms open gym for the first time in a while. There was this 11 year old girl down there who just got her standing tuck. Well my cp decides she is just going to go do it on the floor just like that girl. Well she threw it; and I about had a heart attack because I didn't even know she was about to throw it. It wasn't bad it just wasn't good. So she only threw it like twice more that night. Then the next day we went and she wasn't really feeling it. It wasn't any better then the day before so she just stopped working on it and did running tumbling.

Last night (Wednesday) she showed up at open gym. First thing she threw was this. Standing Tuck (please turn down the volume) and I was so shocked she landed on her feet. Not perfect but I was so happy for her. She had not threw it in a week and she actually made progress. So here is the thing. Jaylen wants to get it tonight so she can surprise her coaches (we are at another gyms open gym so they don't quite know her progress on it).. It don't really matter wether she gets it this week or next year but she is so hard on her self and since it is open gym she is kind of working herself through it.. They will help if she asks but she is just trying to figure it out.

So anyone have any pointers that may have helped you, that I can tell her before she goes to open gym tonight?

The only thing I know to tell her is just to land on her feet and stand up and she will have it but my advice isn't that helpful. Lol and I'm not trained for things like this! Lol

standing tuck

She's making this one continuous motion. For her age this MAY not be physically possible, but a standing tuck is in fact 2 separate motions, the set and the pull. She is setting and pulling, but at the same time. You need to basically wait as long as possible in the set before pulling the tuck. In her actual tuck position, tell her to drive her toes, not her knees. Until the standing tuck becomes second nature, she needs to do everything she can to make sure she has full rotation, which means setting high, pulling up her butt, driving her toes, and holding the tuck until she hits the ground. In the video she seems to anticipate not landing, causing her to open up (I used to do this every single time I tucked) and put her hands down.
I can try and get a video of what I mean if you want, though I don't have the prettiest tucks in the world I can probably demonstrate it.

Thank you!! (Thanks to the other people too!!:))

One of her coaches told her that the fear of actually throwing a standing tuck is one of the biggest hurdles to get over. So since she isn't scared to throw it half the battle is won!

And I do see exactly what you are saying. I think that part as far as the set is what she doesn't get, when she isn't throwing the tuck and just doing the "tuck jump" part of it by itself then it is beautiful. When she throws the actual tuck she just changes everything.

As far as the landing even last night one of the coaches said... You see the ground and you just give up and put your hands down. Stop putting your hands down.. But she can't!

I told her it just takes time. (She did the hands down thing in her running tuck for a long time too) so I know this to she will overcome! She left last night and the night before from both open gyms upset! Then she asks me why I'm smiling. I told her Jaylen that is huge that your even throwing it; I'm proud of you! She however doesn't share in my excitement and wants more. So any tips or videos are always welcome.

Thanks everyone!

Today, well actually yesterday, I decided to volunteer an anwser in my econ lecture of about 150 kids and it was terrifying. Like my heart was beating so fast. And then my Korean professor asked what my name was and I said "Hannah" and she goes "Oh! Like Hannah Montana!!" :cow:

Finally! I have my motorcycle permit! And because I took the motorcycle training course before, in 6 months it will turn into a license and I won't have to take the skills test at the DMV. WAY too happy! :D

I am driving to Daton, OH tonight.....I hate driving and took a long time to decide to do it, but I have to. My Great Aunt passed away and the funeral is tomorrow. I have a very very big family, and I will be the only one not there if I don't go.....so I am going to make the 8 hour drive from NJ.....That is a looooooong drive. But my baby is coming to help me drive....she will miss her game tomorrow, but the company and help will be great. BTW.....my great aunt celebrated her 99th birthday on August 25th. She lived a long and wonderful life. She lived at an assisted living appartment and still walked without a cane. I only pray that I can live a healthy life nearly as long as she did.

I really like the ios6 updates besides the fact that it did this
