You should definitely take time and look them all up! For example their 2 CEA gyms from Raleigh and somewhere else that really doesn't matter went to NJ a few weeks ago. Not 1 team other that SSX won! NOT 1!! This is also not uncommon for the most part when we have seen then in competitions. Although we haven't seen them much this year since they are banned from so many of the events that we attend. If we ever saw them in any of our divisions levels 1-rest 5 honestly we didn't really see them as a remote threat. If you truly went through say for example SSX and asked them if they had cheered at a gym previous to CEA I would say that the majority of them would say yes and that they came to CEA with level 4-5 skills. In turn I am trying to say (yes go ahead and attack) that they don't home grow a lot of their athletes on at least SOME of thier level 5 teams! i am not saying they can't or don't teach any skills I am just saying this is what I have noticed over the years.

haha ...ok..no prob..., you see i am still at least and hour and half from any allstar cheer gym, and we have very good high school squads so,,, whats the deal, Ohio/West Virginia!!!...we need an allstar gym!!
Are you close to like Brooke High School area?? I would imagine there must be something clo0se to yall in any 1-2 hour direction, maybe The gyms that I am aware of are Famous Superstars- Charleston, River City Allstars- i believe Fairmont area, OVA -P-burg... Not really sure about the western area of ohio/wv/pa area.. I believe that is why the High school teams in that area are so Strong!! No Allstars!! If I thought I could make a living, i would move back that way to be closer to my Family..:fro:

You are doing some strong work on this board. I think you may need some kind of cash award from Kingston or perhaps a full expense paid ski trip to Aspen.
I'll let kingston know that I expect my check in the mail! I'm always open to go to Aspen but idk if you can wear flip flops AND ski?

Thanks for your response - again, I wasn't basing my opinion on performances I'd seen, just on logic and what seems to make sense since CEA is able to support so many locations!

I'm surprised people stick around if the teams are that bad (but then again, I could say that same for a lot of other small programs, too) and I'm really surprised that the business is able to support so many locations/teams with a weak lower level program. I would venture to guess that most large gyms would say that the lower levels are their bread and butter. Maybe people stay just because there's a strong brand and the association with the successful level 5 teams? Who knows, I'm just speculating!

Ouch. I'm going to wager a guess that the kids on that team think they matter.

The minute you start thinking this way about any gym is the same minute you get beat. Beware.

You should go and find the CEA rumors thread where CSP answered lots of questions about her gym.
If I remember correctly she stated there that the lower level teams are not formed to be competitive at the beginning of the season, but rather at the end of the season. So a level 3 team will have kids with mostly level 2 skills after try-outs, because they expect/want the kids to be level 3 by the end of the season. They focus more on individual development on lower levels rather than team development. It's just the way their gym works.

yes not far from Brooke, thanks for the help!!! i will keep looking!!!

On the point of gyms worlds teams having athletes that came to that gym with level 4/5 skills... I'm kind of curious of how many top worlds teams actually have a team where all of those athletes were taught their level 1-5 skills at that gym. I'm sure there are some, but you hear stories all of the time from people who's kids have level 5 skills and commute to a gym to be on a worlds team... Not just CEA, but there are plenty of teams that don't have "home grown" athletes on their top teams.

One time I thought I had a laceration on the white part of my eye when I woke up (just after I was visiting my sister who had "adopted" a stray kitten. It was awful. I mean, I already knew I was crazy allergic to them (and another long ever growing list of things) since I was a kid, but omg I really freaked out that time!! It was like a bubble of gel when I woke up. Had to make an emergency trip to the ophthalmologist.
Eeeeewwwww!!!
