Cookout is basically a free-standing drive through. Some locations have small dining rooms. They sell stuff like burgers, fries, hot dogs, chicken, wraps etc. It's really about being fast and suuuuper cheap. Cookout is basically what all high school/college kids live off of here because its so cheap haha.Oh, also, now that I'll be moving down to North Carolina in a little less than 2 months here's a question for all of you North Carolina residents...
What on EARTH is Cookout? I see people talking about it all of the time but I have no idea what to compare it to.
Yeah, In N Outs can get a bit touristy. But luckily where I live, the tourists come for the wine and five star dining, not fast food burgers, so ours is primarily locals. I've never seen a T-Shirt being sold at all the times I've been to an In N Out, not even in the crazy busy one in San Francisco.I've also lived all over the country (California, Delaware, Arizona, and NC), and this is what I've noticed..
In California, most people don't even like In n Out burger, because its such a "touristy place" and the lines are wrapped around the restaurants for people to buy food and shirts and useless collectibles...but I will say every time I go back home to see family, I have to go eat in n out lol.
And also, just up north and on the west coast in general, we drink iced tea, not sweet tea. I cannot stand all the sugar they put in tea here in the south because my family drinks it all unsweetened since my family basically originated on the west coast...that sugar gives me such a headache.

Cousins is sooo much better than subway! George Webbs has by far the best scrambled eggs ever. Unfortunately the one by my house closed I love their food. I totally forgot about Murfs, we had one right by where I live but it turned into a Kraverz, which has the best burgers and fries, especially with ranch, and their custard is great tooWisconsin (Milwaukee Area)
Burgers/Custard/Etc: Culvers by far, Murfs, Kopps, AJ Bombers (They have to die for peanut butter burgers)
Subs: Cousins (I think its a midwest thing?)
Breakfast: George Webbs
Pizza: Ian's
Slurpees: Speedway (its just a chain gas station but they're SO good, kinda like 7/11 but we dont have those)
these are all i could think of at the moment I lived in Wi up until like 2 years ago when I moved to Georgia.
I hate Subway, it just doesn't compare to Cousins. Ive never heard of Kraverz I'll have to look it up it sounds so goooood!Cousins is sooo much better than subway! Anywho, I'm Portuguese, and when we actually make Portuguese food, it always has chorizo in it...I honestly dont even know what kind of meat chorizo is, but it's soooo good.

I don't really remember much about Arizona because we don't go to visit since we only lived there for my dads business for about 18 months, so I have no input on AZ lol.
And NC...we have the best fast food. Cookout, Bojangles, Chic fil a, Zaxbys, etc. Everything n the south is literally about fried chicken. Not even kidding. And in my town, Krispy Kreme and Pepsi were originated, so you find Pepsi in most restaurants that aren't chains (like mcds), and Krispy Kremes on every corner. Dunkin Doughnuts are imposters.
OH, and if you're ever in North Carolina, South Carolina or Virginia you HAVE to try Cheerwine. They only sell it here (and apparently in Norway), and it's one of the best drinks ever. It's basically cherry soda, but not like coke with a hint of cherry, it's completely cherry soda. Delicious.
Oh and half of my moms family lives in Oklahoma too, lol, so we're also there quite often. Best food there is definitely Whataburger, Del Taco, and Braums. And in Oklahoma City, they have a restaurant with two locations, called "Dell Rancho", and it's the best. Their signature dish is a chicken fried steak on as a sandwich.
Didn't realize I knew so much about regional foods lol.

OMG yes juice shop by Hanes Mall? Sosososososoooo delicious. And I'm pretty sure it's just a local shop, so those of y'all on the west coast, it's basically like a Jamba Juice. Soooo yummy.Applebee's Clemmons now has Cheerwine as of yesterday. We know some people who work there and they told us today. So of course I had some. I hate Dunkin Doughnuts. Krispy Kreme is the best (as I live there too anyone who didn't know.) Also Juice Shop is amazing although they have them in Greensboro too. To be honest I hate McDonalds Sweet Tea. It's nasty and has a non-consistent taste. I love Bojangles' tea though. I thought Cheerwine was Carolina's only?

I'm in England and I loooove Nandos! They do incredible veggie burgers (I'm not a veggie, but they're so good!).
My favourite has to be Wagamamas though - Japanese style curries, rice and noodles. Yum! The prawn ebi katsu are amazing! I also love Yo! Sushi! So good.
In terms of English foods that are good, Marks and Spencer crumpets are so tasty with hot melted butter, I love Eton Mess (meringue, whipped cream and raspberries all mushed up), I really like eggs benedict (poached egg, smoked salmon, English muffin and hollandaise sauce, mmm) and you can't beat a cup of Yorkshire tea! Oh and Cadburys chocolate is the best! I'm not a fan of fish and chips though!
I have been to the USA - in Wyoming and Minnesota - my favourites were Dairy Queen, Red Lobster, Olive Garden, and Grandmas in MN. In Jackson WY they have a burger bar called something along the lines of 'Big Billy's Big Burgers' - they really are huge! Like, bigger than your head! And so good!
Oh and the USA McDonalds is grim! It tastes fake! Ours is so much better - at JamFest Europe I was at McDonalds at the same time as a bunch of CEA Coed and the boys were pretty excited and shouting 'oh my GOSH you guys use actual meat here'!!
