I cant lie I was one of the skeptics that thought Orange's style was not ready for Large Senior but after seeing the smart changes they made and all that standing tumbling, I currently believe that Orange & Shooting Stars are the front runners at this moment! Orange is as clean as a whistle and they still give you difficulty. Shooting Stars just slay my entire life with their routine and the energy is through the roof. Stars just need to get that jump sequence together. NCA is gonna be cray cray!
Yes their jumps

I really didn't think they could hang with large senior until recently when they took out those double ups, and cleaned up the routine some(I still don't like the dance until that girl comes to the front to do her thing! Lol)
Also, SE is right up there with them. I haven't seen how panthers have been scoring, but I'm pretty sure they're up there too.
When they all compete at NCA, I think silly mistakes will determine who wins first & who wins 2nd & 3rd.

Well you have to think the stars routine during the majors was really bad but they won oddly enough. I have faith in my girls

well
1. you put a team on the level they should be instead of jumping up a team to a level they aren't ready for..
2. because worlds is worlds...... the most important competition of cheerleading. of course everything leads up to that. we hunt for bids our whole season because of how important worlds is. clearly the whole season is about one event. everything is centered around it...... how could it not all be about worlds. in reality in this industry or any sport worlds or the olympics is the most important competition if you win those you basically win everything, especially the title...... you can be a visas champ in gymnastics but if your an olympic champ who lost visas it wont really matter will it?

We absolutely do not view a season as "all about Worlds." If you had to rank them, the USASF event is probably currently the most prestigious for L5 simply because they are the only one to get to use "World" in the title instead of "National". (A rule they set up themselves, by the way.) It has the worst venue & least refined scoring system of any the major events we go to. There is NOT a big gap between it and NCA (or even Majors for that matter) in our eyes. Comparing USASF to the Olympics is a stretch, IMO.

A more apt comparison would be comparing USASF to Wimbledon vs. US Open, French Open, Australian Open. If you had to pick one among them you would want to win, you probably would pick Wimbledon, but that doesn't make it the "Olympics" of tennis.

Mainly Cheer Athletics because it just seems like it would not be as fun to be a kid on Swooshcats or Junglecats knowing that I'm in the same gym with Cheetahs, Panthers, & Wildcats. Whereas with Stingrays, all level 5 teams are the BOMB DIGGITY and could win. I don't think junglecats has hit a routine yet this season. No offense to anyone with kids on these teams or the athletes. Just stating the facts.

Oh and Cheer Extreme....

And while I agree that all Stingrays L5 teams this year are the "bomb diggity" :D and definite contenders, that hasn't always been the case. With the exception of Orange, their other worlds teams have not always placed high or globed at Worlds in recent years. So, you can't really go with the argument that all of Rays worlds teams are contenders year after year after year. However, this year is looking like it's going to be a phenomenal year for them across the board.

The fact remains that Rays, CA, Cali, CEA, etc all put out excellent L5 teams year and year, but they're not ALL going to win Worlds or even globe EVERY year. Cali had a killer year last year with multiple Worlds titles, but (as someone pointed out) they've had new worlds teams in the past that didn't do so well. It happens. Swoosh was new to CA last year and came out and placed 8th at worlds, it's not a globe, but it's not awful either, and they're looking even better this year. Just because the new Worlds teams at a particular gym haven't been up to your standards this season, doesn't mean the teams were thrown together for the heck of it just so the gym could say they have another Worlds team. And just because a team doesn't win a globe at Worlds, doesn't mean they're not amazing either. As @12stepCheermom pointed out, some of these divisions have ridiculous talent across the board, but there can only be ONE winner in each division. I think the owners and coaches of CA have proven themselves over the past 20 years that they know what they're doing and they know how to produce a successful program. They don't have to add a new Worlds team to prove themselves.

Totally agree it is the worst venue. When I saw the Jostens Center for the first time I was shocked, it looks like a high school gymnasium and we don't have comps in high school gymnasiums. Same when I saw the milk house, it's the smallest arena I've ever seem.

I've never been to NCA Dallas but I feel it's right up ther, maybe if people had to qualify to go to Dallas it would surpass Worlds. Disney is a non factor for me

Exactly what are you saying? There is a pretty huge gap restricted 5 and being a heavy favorite to medal at Worlds. Which of those teams in that gap would you meet your standards for competing in "regular" level 5.

i think you misunderstood my post. was not implying anything about standards or being a regular level 5. was just saying that i think gyms should take advantage of the restricted 5 divisions.

Those are statements of opinion. A statement of fact would be something like:

Medal Count from last 3 Worlds:
Cheer Athletics - 14
Stingrays - 3

(not a dig on Stingrays and their amazing teams - just trying to defend my program. I know I should just let it go, but sometimes I can't help myself.)

In fairness, Stingrays have had at most 4 teams competing at Worlds in the past 3 years (Orange, Peach/Amber, Smoke(Not 2013) and Rust) and Cheer Athletics has had 6 (7 if you're counting Crewkatz medal?) (Panthers, Cheetahs, Wildcats, Ladykatz, Fiercekatz, Swooshcats, (Crewkatz)).

I see your point and CA would still have a higher medal count, however the ratios are out.

If we take 2013 as an example - 3 stingray teams and 5 CA

@BlueCat
Regarding your earlier post - In your opinion what should change about Worlds in order to make in the best of the best competition? Venue and scoresheet?
