I might need to go back and hear LE's mix, but for some reason I don't feel like this was always their dance song.
Nope. Just listened, it was some other mashup of Christina Ag and some other song I don't know. Granted that one was a bit more..sassy than CEA dance songs tend to be. I personally wouldn't know the lyrics to the new song as I haven't heard the album. Can't say it was a good song choice, though, if those are the lyrics.
Did the coaches make the mix, or someone else? Because one of the coaches didn't even know what someone was talking about when they mentioned the lyrics not being appropriate. So I don't think they intentionally put them out there with music that's not appropriate.I know I'm like a week behind but...
Come on. I'd love to hear from someone in the Teal family try to defend this song choice. I can hardly wait to see how someone can spin this one.
ETA:
But the problem is that most people do know the lyrics. The album sold like a bazillion copies. So most of us know what she's saying, sped up or not. Whoever mixed that music knew for sure. Ridiculous that cea would put that on the floor.

I never said no one knew, someone had to. And just because it's Beyoncé doesn't mean everyone knows the song, I haven't even heard the song myself. In fact, I have only heard 1 song from the album. And yes, coaches should know what they're putting out there, but I'm sure plenty of coaches have had one thing slip by them & they didn't realize. CEA or not.I'll tell you exactly what I just told someone else. I work at a small dance studio in Chicago. We have about 160 kids there. If we played that mix, about 90% of our parents and students would have caught that on the first run thru. 100% of our staff would have.
Sorry, but that's like saying you don't know a stunt is illegal. It's their *job* to know what they're putting on the floor. I refuse to believe that no one on that team or their coaches knew what those lyrics were - it's Beyoncé, not some no-name artist. No way am I buying that no one knew.
(and just because she acted like she didn't know on some social networking site doesn't mean she actually didn't know. Of course no one is going to just hop on the Internet and say, "Yep. We thought that was a good song to play for families! No?")

I'm still surprised Senior Elite never changed their running tumbling music last year with those inappropriate lyrics. So I wouldn't be shocked if this doesn't get changed either.I'll tell you exactly what I just told someone else. I work at a small dance studio in Chicago. We have about 160 kids there. Which song is that? I hope it's not a bizarre qt but since I'm not that into SE I have actually no idea what the music is!
I think there was a line that said 'let me be your dirty fantasy.' Which oddly enough, I only realized AFTER worlds. And I love them- I just didn't download any music last year so I never got clear enough audio to know all the worlds. I just heard 'smfdlksffjdks FANTASYYYYYYYY'
I think this was kinda an off day, especially for Ashley. She didn't finish her tumbling pass and I think she was a bit dejected because of that. I've seen that stunt work brilliantly so I think they should just give it a bit more time. Because when it works it goes amazing!! (Btw I'm not saying this was only Ashley's fault!)
Could you please tell me when that thing worked brilliantly? I have only seen it go wrong and would love to see what it is supposed to look like when it works. Is there a video out I could go and watch?
Well, Beyonce or not it's pretty easy to discern what the lyrics mean. I caught the Monica Lewinsky and "Yonce on her knees" parts the first time I watched the video so I just have a hard time believing a coach who probably has heard the mix clearly more times than I have, or even picked the dance song, doesn't know what it's referring to.I never said no one knew, someone had to.
