do they know there are minors at the events where this music is being played? we need to protect our minors from these bad influences. There is song warnings for a reason. Why are we letting minors listen to this music?

My thoughts are a coach from CEA had to ask their music producer to change the song to Partition. Regardless, the music producer is at fault here. If I told him I wanted to dance to "My Neck, My Back", fine, but you would assume he's capable enough to edit around "Lick my *****, and my *****" and know why he needs to.

Maybe my memory is wrong but weren't you saying no big deal for our kids to be following Apple but you have issue with some lyrics we may let them hear? Like I said I might be wrong but looking for clarification?

Well, Beyonce or not it's pretty easy to discern what the lyrics mean. I caught the Monica Lewinsky and "Yonce on her knees" parts the first time I watched the video so I just have a hard time believing a coach who probably has heard the mix clearly more times than I have, or even picked the dance song, doesn't know what it's referring to.

Well, I listened to it in my home because my CP is dancing to it and I never could understand what she was saying because she slurs her words the entire time. I was more focused on the dance than what she was saying in the song. They got the dance literally two practices before the competition so learning the dance was the main concern. The music was so sped up and, GASP, I'm not a huge Beyonce fan, so I wasn't paying attention. I don't think her music says anything of any import. Sorry. Maybe the coaches liked the beat, but feel the same way, I don't know. I'm glad the lyrics were sent to our coach, so now it's up to her.

Are people really this naive that they believe coaches of this caliber would add that specific section of a song without listening to it and knowing what it was? Like @NEliteSteven said... Someone had to actually request that it be added.

Well, much like porn stars on twitter, MY children are exposed to other teams' music. So yeah, play it in your gym (like I play it on my headphones), not at competitions full of children. You can't get mad at one person for exposing children to inappropriate things and then say it's ok when it's someone you know/like. Granted this is obviously a much smaller scale of inappropriateness but nevertheless it's not OK.

But thanks for sharing a video. I don't have one, so I'll just watch these.

Whether they got the dance two days before and even though the mix is super sped up, I just don't believe that the coach was clueless about the lyrics being inappropriate.

But the problem is that most people do know the lyrics. The album sold like a bazillion copies. So most of us know what she's saying, sped up or not. Whoever mixed that music knew for sure. Ridiculous that cea would put that on the floor.

I'll tell you exactly what I just told someone else. I work at a small dance studio in Chicago. We have about 160 kids there. If we played that mix, about 90% of our parents and students would have caught that on the first run thru. 100% of our staff would have.

Sorry, but that's like saying you don't know a stunt is illegal. It's their *job* to know what they're putting on the floor. I refuse to believe that no one on that team or their coaches knew what those lyrics were - it's Beyoncé, not some no-name artist. No way am I buying that no one knew.

(and just because she acted like she didn't know on some social networking site doesn't mean she actually didn't know. Of course no one is going to just hop on the Internet and say, "Yep. We thought that was a good song to play for families! No?")

Going to stand up for my friend Sarah here and say if she said she didn't know then it's true. She's not a liar. I wish it had been caught with the music person.....but, I also know there are some pretty young kids on that team and I don't see parent's being happy if they figure out what the lyric's are. (Which, I didn't know what they were. I only have the music on if my kids are in the car. If I'm alone I turn the radio off. It's usually the only peace and quiet I get all day. LOL)
