Or she has no interest in causing any waves, ill feeling, nor a focus or worry about people getting switched around right before NCA - perhaps she's not announcing to spare added pressure on athletes to perform (because of this risk of their spot being in jeopardy because of a newcomer)

Think about what it would mean if she was coming to your daughters team, and it was your daughter whose spot was being evaluated, would you want her carrying that weight, pressure, and responsibility into a major competition? I know I wouldnt...
So you are saying she is staying in cheer and will be replacing someone on a different team?

I have read her post to say, that this is likely a temporary transition. I also read to to say she like everyone else has worked hard all year to be at Worlds & I further read that she thanked everyone who is making sure her hard work didn't go to waste.

It's all there - I think however, you're hung up on the who, what, where? And as far as that aspect is concerned I whole heartedly support not saying anything until the appropriate time for reasons listed in my first post to you.

I definitely didn't read it the same way as you did so guessing you may know more than you want or can admit. My thought as well is if you want to avoid drama for others you don't do a media release the week before NCA or you say something to the effects of not knowing plans for remainder of season. Doesn't help that mom is shimmying posts of people talking like she wants them too.

To each their own, I guess I find the handling of this by ALL parties on the up & up.
I guess we'll have to wait until your athlete has found notoriety, and a YouTube show with tens of thousands of views weekly to determine just how you will handle your situation.

Thank you for your thoughts, and take care.

Fair enough. Guess when your child hits the same level we'll see if your perspective changes.

Eta. How do you know I have not avoided such notoriety for my cp?

As I've started so many other posts, I'll do this with the same disclaimer. This is bound to be an unpopular opinion, but after watching the Internet the past 24 hours I have a hard time containing my opinion.

I think it's fortunate for this athlete that she has gained all the notoriety and webshow followers @DJ just referenced because it appears to me to be the primary difference in the reaction to the statements regarding her departure from Cali. That's a good thing for her and I'm glad for that because it appears to have insulated her from what the typical reaction is on this board in the countless threads I've read about athletes leaving mid-season or "gym hopping." (Fierceboard term, not mine.)

I think if it had been Janie Sue from Janktastic Allstars in their hot pink, lime green and giraffe print uniforms it would've been a much different reaction to announcing you're leaving your team the week of NCA.

Ok, I admit that I don't follow cheerlebrities or the drama that follows high profile gyms, but are we actually condoning gym hopping so close to two high profile competitions? Am I reading this right? **will never understand this**

I'm going to break my self-imposed silence on this subject to just say, this situation isn't about gym hopping. I'm only speaking out because I don't think Jenee would deserve a reputation as a "gym hopper." :)

We also don't know the reasons why she has decided to not continue the season with the team. I'm sure we can all agree that there are some legitimate reasons to leave a team.
Oh, there definitely are. 1)Safety. 2) Legal reasons. 3) Family moving

She may not, but like 12step said if this was an unknown cheerleader that's exactly what she would be called. That's my confusion. Oh well, doesn't really effect me. Just shocked at the reaction given the history of beliefs on the board.
