All-Star Ca Charlotte Is A Thing

Like said on here already there is a lot of History in NC. I can see both sides of the double standard statement. CEA see's it as a double standard because they are looked down upon when they open near another location, while Cheer Athletics is praised. However, you also have to look at the other side of the coin on why CEA isn't exactly liked in the state.

Cheer Athletics: Power House Gym, that likes the feel of heavily cheer populated areas that offer a cost effecient competition season for parents by reducing Travel Costs. Charlotte/NC is driving distance to Atlanta for Cheersport in order for the gym to have a Large national competiton within cost efficiency as well has multiple two day events within in the state itself. You also have a gym who is used to having their hardest competiton being with their own friendly neighbors throughout most of the season. Charlotte becomes a perfect fit for them as it is designed much like what they are already used to in Texas. Their methods seem sane and just and therefore are much more welcomed.

Cheer Extreme: Whether you see it or not has a habit of opening gyms in very close proximity to already established programs. There is little to no drive difference for most athletes at the competitor location. It has sort of just always happend that way in NC. CAC, EC Cats, One United...these were all already mentioned. If you go further back you can say the same for their Raleigh location with what was once Champion/Impact/Raleigh Rage back in the day, or Wake Forest Allstars and the Salem location. While I understand that this is a perfectly acceptable business practice (a bit Walmart-ish but acceptable either way), it does not sit well with many people in NC to see this practice when compared to that of CA.

So that is why people say the crying of "double standard" is a fairly weak argument. The basis and proximity of openings has been drastically different between both programs.

*sidenote: I have no understanding of the CA gym opening beyond what I have seen or read on here. My explination was solely based off of my own opininon of what seemed logical.

While you're welcome to your opinion, Wake Forest Allstars were based on the other side of Raleigh. Fuquay Varina area. CEA Salem is in Winston Salem, 2 hours away. Winston Salem is the home of Wake Forest University so I can completely understand the mistake. Just correcting facts!

I'm never going to understand the bitterness toward a program for opening close to something else. Owning a business is great, but it doesn't give you "dibs" on the surrounding areas. Competing companies opening close to one another is BUSINESS. It's what drives the economy. There's streets on my hometown with a Walgreens on one corner and a CVS on the other. As someone stated before, competition is great for the consumer.

Keep your customers happy and you have nothing to worry about.

I stand corrected. I remember competing in Winston-Salem many many moons ago and Wake Forest was fairly close to that area I believe. So that is all I thought of was Salem/Winston-Salem/Wake Forest. Thanks for the heads up.

tell that to the thousands out of jobs thanks to Walmart.

* While I understand what you are saying. THIS is where bitterness comes from.

Yeah, I suppose the bitterness makes sense when you are concerned about other gyms coming in and "stealing" your athletes. I can see both sides. I just think in a competition-driven activity such as ours, it's a little odd to get worked up when gyms move in to do just that - compete.

I also understand the idea that cheerleading gyms are businesses, because of course they are, but it is a business based on more than just selling a product. A successful product in cheerleading is a winning team but the idea is more than just winning, it's about being classy, friendly, and like a family. Nobody wants to be part of a winning team that just throws shade at other people and uses shady practices to get athletes.

*Not my personal opinion that CEA has done this but from my understanding that is the belief of other gyms and people in the area in regards to their choice of gym expansion locations.

Cheer = business.

You guys know I love my Coke/Pepsi analogies.

NC peeps have Pepsi, Coke, and now CA is offering something different. Up to the consumer to make the choice.

Couldn't come up with a 3rd brand of beverage for CA. Lemonade. Tea?
