Funny that these are the 2 Disney movies you mentioned. So last month I took a charter bus up to NYC for a band trip. Well, it was the biggest trip we've ever had since the band director we have now has been here (she's been here about 25 years maybe? I'm not sure) anyway, we had to take 2 busses. She figured it would be easiest to split us up high school on one, bus, middle school on the other, parents split between. I'm going into my sophomore year, so I was on the high school bus. We watched 5 movies we watched Space Jam, Pitch Perfect, Frozen, Tangled, and another kid's movie that I can never remember. Either way you saying those 2 made me think of it. Carry on your conversation

Space jam was so cute

I wish I could've seen more of it. It was the first movie we watched and we were only about 2 hours into the trip and everyone was loud and I got annoyed so I stuck my headphones in and ignored everything.

ok...I should clarify... It was cute in a cheesy outdated way! Don't go rushing out to get it ;)

We're Disney buffs, so we've seen both of those more than once. Not Rise of the Guardians though, although I've heard it's good. And she's seen the Lego movie and I haven't (boo). I think we'll go with Rise of the Guardians! It looks cute! Thank y'all!

Ahh yes! I hope you like it. I've seen it so many times and always seem to find something new that I love about it. The animation and creativity and imagination and artwork of it all is just so amazing. It also has beautiful messages for both adults and children. I believe there's a quote about underdogs in it that Jack Frost says and it gets me every time. It's such an underrated movie.

I was going to suggest how to train your dragon as well but I'm going to assume you've already seen it :p

Dreamworks has done so well with some of their more recent kid movies.

Anyone have recommendations for rain boots? I want shorter ones since I'm short. Normal height ones cut my legs in half. I was looking at Hunter rain boots, but I don't know if I can spend 130 dollars on a pair of boots. Id prefer colorful ones as well.
Isn't it shocking how much rubber shoes can cost…? I like Bogs, but they're also on the pricey end. But they do have lots of colors and different heights, though they're a very different style from other rain boots. I got mine on sale for like $60 at a retail location (like REI or other outdoors wear stores) so I could try them on.

I need some advice and I think @12stepCheermom would be the right person to ask? If anyone else cares to chime in please do!!

I'm thinking of switching my major from Elementary Education (College of Education) to Birth through Kindergarten Teacher Education (College of Human Ecology). Mainly I'm wondering if this would be beneficial - I've always wanted to teach at or around the kindergarten age - and would this give me a better chance of finding a job in the state of North Carolina.

THANK YOUUU

Does your school not have a option for birth-6th education? In NY I believe we do, seems like it would solve your dilemma. But I'm not sure what your state's structure is for education.

I realize from your post you're planning on staying south when you're finished, but from a northerner's perspective (and from one who hires teachers to work with students in a home instruction setting through the school districts) it sounds as though you would be limiting rather than broadening your future marketability if you specialized in only birth to kindergarten. In my experience unless you are doing a dual degree in special education, the number of new teachers for the N-6 grades here in NY is way higher than the demand and job availability. Many certified teachers are accepting jobs as Teacher's Aides in the hopes that it will at least get their foot in the door.

If you want to teach kindergarten then stay where you are. The NC licensure is K-6 which will allow you to teach any grade in elementary and actually can sneak you into 6th grade only in middle school. You may only want kindergarten but if you limit your license to B-K you'll have a harder time finding a job. Most elementary principals will want k-6 because it gives them more flexibility with their master schedule. For me, I really work hard to only hire 9-12 certified people even though a 6-9 certification works to teach 9th grade but they can ONLY teach 9th grade so it ties my hands.

There will be plenty of positions in NC since we have such a teacher crisis (I just hired two teachers Thursday for foreign language....I literally had to go outside of the US to find some) you should be able to find the position you want. Hope that helps :)

it boggles my mind that for nearly 23 years i ate gluten probably every single day and no one knew i was allergic.... i accidentally had some contaminated food earlier and i thought i was going into anaphylaxis. 8 hours later and my tongue is still swollen. so scary.

and to avoid double posting... @luv2cheer92 or @Eyes On The Prize so how obnoxious do you think it would be to do T25 living on the top floor of an apartment building? how much jumping is involved? i mean its only 25 minutes my neighbors can probably deal... but i always feel bad when i drop 400 things a day onto their ceilings, purposely jumping seems mean. lol
I was allergic to peanuts, milk, and whey for 16 years and whenever I felt sick after eating it or even one time my tounge swelled my mom thought nothing of it. :( I love peanut butter too so my life is sad.
