OT New New Random Thread...

Seriously I feel like every week I have some new story about football season. Anyway, tonight we had a lightning delay, so everyone had to go inside. Well, even though we were the away team, we still found the gym and practiced. One of my teammates was ineligible, so he couldn't cheer. Because he couldn't cheer or jump or stunt or anything like that during the game, he wore navy cargo shorts. Well, we were practicing our hello cheer and we have 2 jumps in it. We knew he'd be okay, because we weren't actually cheering during the game. He did a toe touch and his pants ripped. It was seriously hilarious. "The best; no doubt. This is our year!" "I just ripped my pants!" I can't stop laughing every time I watch the videl

Okay it's official. We are the same person. Our game was delayed twice for lightning! Luckily it was at the newest, nicest HS in town so there was plenty of room in the school to fit everyone

For real though! We never even started our game though. It was rescheduled for tomorrow at 7 pm. Over an hour away. Joy of joys. I understand you can only start so early on Friday nights, but if you reschedule for a Saturday, can't you schedule it just a couple hours earlier? (although that would have made me not able to go to the game because of a dance practice I had already paid for, and given me more time at the closest Ulta that opened today. So I guess you could say I have and ULTArior motive )
ETA: I was serious about the dance practice. I would have gone if I had to, even though I really wanted to go to the new makeup store

We didn't get "approved" to start the game again until 9, but in all honesty we all thought it was just going to be called off. But nope, we kept playing. It didn't end until after 11.

I couldn't have dealt if it had been us. We never had the chance to even start, so they said they'd decide by 8:10 whether we'd play or not. Once I heard that, I personally thought it was too long of a time span because I wanted to get out of there. But then soon after, I saw a flash of lightning, and knew we were only waiting for tomorrow's time

My HS football team is beating a conference team 40-0.........

This happens never. Like we got beat from the T.C. Titians (from the movie) 74-0 and our county rival 84-0. Last season was our first 'winning' season in 20 years because we won 3 games. But traditionally we suck so this is cool.

Then again a neighboring HS is on ESPNU...

I'm surprised after tonight too! A team that usually beats us horribly lost to us 50-16 tonight. & we also won last week. Were never an amazing team, just alright, but we didn't think we'd be anywhere close to good this year after how many seniors we lost

We weren't even alright...like we went two seasons with losing streaks, my freshman year we won once, same the year before. My brother played and said it was the worst/best thing. We are everyone's HC lol like one year we played 4 games on the road for HC's lol

We had a game like that last year. There were about 4 lightning delays in the FIRST QUARTER. It was a televised game so they wouldn't cancel it. Cheerleaders didn't have to stay but we all did anyway. Game went into double overtime and we won by like 1 point. It was a Thursday night game and we had school the next day. They said cheerleaders and football players could have the day as an absence/tardy and they wouldn't count it against us! Haha it was probably one of the most fun games I've been to though

Our games traditionally start at 7:30 and right when my friend and I got to the ticket booth, they called a lightning delay and the game to start at 8. We were two different TV games of the week (and a radio) and our team, dance team, and cheerleaders had to go to one of those stations for segment they do on the game of the week (since we won). When the show started at 11:15, everyone was still on the way there, so they didn't show as much live time of our team there
