I work in guidance.

Two years ago, some boys posted a "hottest sophomore girls" list to Twitter.

We (me/teachers/staff) couldn't determine if we were residing in real life or a Lifetime Movie.
Oh yes. Sophomore year we had hottest girls and hottest guys lists. Last year we had the "THOT" list. And this year it's most popular. It's so incredibly immature???? The list is majority seniors and being retweeted and embraced by seniors so I'm assuming it was made by one. Like these people are either already able to vote or will be by next November. These people are going to college next year. How can you still be so childish...

My personal favorite comment like this is when I have kids making the switch from all star to school cheer and aren't used to the dead mat.

I TELL kids at the pre-tryout meeting that dead mat/hard floor tumbling is different, and to try and get in some dead mat time BEFORE tryouts/clinics (because nothing is worse than showing up to a clinic having NEVER tumbled outside of springs.)

However, without fail, there is at least one person who just cannot process what she's being asked to do.

It goes like this:

"So you mean, I have to throw my tuck on this mat?"

"Yes."

"How am I supposed to do that?"
Something like this happens about once a week. The experience level on my team is either first year or more than 5 years, there are only about 4 of us with more than 5 years, we're also the only girls who have been on a team other than this one.

Cp was terrified to throw her full at tryouts on the dead mat! Yesterday she tried 2 to a full - she said it was ugly but she did it. It is very, very different but if you have the skills (and learned to set properly rather than throw the spinning ball of death) then the skills should translate after an adjustment period.

That's what I tell them. If you've been doing it properly, it really doesn't take long to adjust. Like, if you take a few days in the gym before clinics just to adjust to the feel of dead mat, you're probably good.

The "spinning full of death" or "super low tuck of death" or "non-hollow and not high enough layout of death" kids are the ones who have the hardest time because they never learned the skill properly to begin with. You were just chucking it and relying on the springs on some level to get you the height.

On the dead mat, that gets you a trip to the ER.

The only thing I have to say is that I hate they waited until 8pm CT to share the findings of the grand jury investigation.

In other news. My last day of work was last Friday and I moved back to my hometown yesterday and I start my new job Monday. Yay for me.
Good luck

I am so sorry for your loss. I lost my dog a year ago tomorrow, and there isn't a day that goes by that I don't think about her. Sending love and positive thoughts your way.

Okay totally random here!

I'm scrolling through netflix trying to find a good movie and I happen across the burts bees documentary. Since he's from my town I've met him quite a few times so I decided to watch it.

Well there's a guy in the film that is basically his helper throughout the movie.

Well this guy's name is Trevor and he asked me on a date once at work! He always acted so hoity toity and now it all makes sense!! Sorry for the randomness but I just had a revelation haha.
I'm so sorry about your puppy.

I'm watching this documentary right now and that Trevor guy is cute!

ETA: just now saw that she had to be put down [emoji17][emoji17]. I'm so sorry. I will be praying for you!

Oh sweetie, I'm so so sorry! Doggies are our babies! Big huge hugs for you!

Thank you everyone. :(
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

I am so sorry for your loss. It hurts so much to lose a pet. They are family and sometimes our favorite family members.

I know why "they" are saying they did it. I'm just saying that I hate that they did it.

I also know that my wording comes across way sassier than I intend...but I mean we've all been watching the same information, so i truly mean no harm.

honestly, i thought they were waiting to let the jurors get the h@ll out of the country before they announced the decision.
