While the majority of my classmates are stressing out trying to finish up college apps before the January deadlines, I get to relax and read fb. Putting my head down and finishing my applications in October was one of the smartest decisions I've made :)

I know I'm so glad I did that! I just have one scholarship application due at the end of the month and one honors college application and I'm done! By the end of the month I'll have decisions from all my schools too :)

It's so nice. I've heard back from 6 of the 11 schools I applied too and should hear back from the rest within the next month or so. :)

I've heard from 4/6, January 10 for one school and "by the end of January" for the other. Then maybe I can finally have an answer when people ask me where I'm going to school! Over the holidays we visited our family that we never see since we're so far away and I think I answered "what schools are you looking at? Have you made a decision? What are you majoring in?" At least 25 times. I was like "it's December???"
Seriously can't wait to have a definite answer to all those questions!

I keep getting that question too! I'm about 95% sure I know where I want to go based on the ranking of the program and the scholarships they've offered, but I'm not ready to make that decision without hearing back from all the other schools too. Good luck on your last two!

Those questions never end, they just change form. Where are you going? What are you majoring in? When will you graduate? Where will you work? When are you getting married? When are you having kids? Never ending...

Ugh. Amen. It's even worse when your 19 year old sister has a boyfriend to bring to Thanksgiving and you don't...for the second year in a row. [emoji52]

I was just about to respond with what you said. Family get togethers are terrible for that reason. And when the older generation relatives have Alzheimer's or memory loss problems it's like for-freaking-get it. You're answering the same questions four times in 25 minutes to the same person. Some Christmas I'm gonna make a drinking game out of it. "Take a shot every time I have to remind grandma that I graduated."

This year I played "Take a drink every time someone is condescending to me." My sister's boyfriend thought it was hilarious, my grandma did not [emoji28]

My cousins come up with some good ones
"Take a drink every time Dad says 'Back in 'Nam...'" or
"Take a drink every time Granny mentions about her man friend at the senior center." (Not sure if they actually have said this, or if the aforementioned man friend exists, but same difference)
ETA: I haven't been around for these actually happening, but they always come up with them on Christmas Eve, before they go into effect on Christmas day

My older cousins have "take a drink every time grandma accuses someone of being racist" and "take a drink every time said grandma follows up accusation with a racist statement" Family gatherings are interesting...
