just like some flyers are better than others and some girls tumble better than others, some dance better than others! i think whoever dances on point is normally someone who is born with the ability to dance. naturally, they make their motions flow yet tight at the same time. i know a girl who is the FIERCEST of the FIERCE and shes on point for two teams. everyone else does motions and simple stuff, and she is doing her own complicated thing in the middle! of course, ive seen choreographers make very wrong choices. a girl on my team last year was NOT a good dancer, but our choreographer thought she was pretty so he put her on point.... im pretty sure our coach yelled at her at every practice for not being tight and not working it!

TOO FUNNY.... I showed my team that video a while back, and said look, this is what the right attitude is to have when performing.... He's not on a great team, even his motions are a little sketchy at times, but he is working it like it's the best thing on earth. I don't care how jacked up the rest of your performance is, you can always be fierce in the dance (though he is perched very precariously on the border of fierce and obnoxiously cheesy lol)

A good point dancer is able to perform the routine exactly the way the choreographer intended.
An amazing point dancer takes the dance to a new level, by putting in their own attitude, and making you want to go out on the floor and dance with them!
THIS is an amazing point dancer

I'm point dancer in my routine and i think i got it because for one i do facials and smile everytime we do the routine in practice and i really like to perform and perform my hardest every chance i get, i want to make the crowd go wow look at that guy!

My point dancer Paige, is an amazing performer, but is also an all around great athlete. She stands out because she is beautiful, and works it out... no matter what. lol
In Indy at Jamfest she took an elbow to the check bone, and needless to say her face was covered in blood by the dance. It may sound gross ( and it was) but I must say it was the most amazing performance. She went crazy, and sold it. We were so amazed by her.

sounds just like me! lol I was second point though, just behind the point dancer (I was point dancer previously though), took a knee to the temple 2 seconds in, and had blood running down my face and all over my uniform, still worked it out though :) haha

I think it definitely depends on the dance/music. Different athletes perform different styles better. I think the point dance needs to be someone that has the perfect balance of standing out without being over the top, being clean but still getting their body into the dance, and making the dance their own without "butchering" the choreography. Kind of a vague description but I think most people know it when they see it.

I'd say not so much of do the dance as choreographed so much, but letting loose in the dance and giving it your own flavor, and non-stop facials of course

haha one time in Jacksonville I took a head to the face in the opening basket and cut a whole down the entire inside of my mouth. I couldn't open my mouth the entire routine because I was hit so hard I swore I was missing teeth and covered in blood. I was point dancer and worked it out of course, just with closed mouth facials. haha.
