Most of the time when we go to this competition everyone is ALWAYS so nice and kind! This weekend we got a mix of both! Of course we had the super nice people waiting for us to get off to get pics and going our tunnels the parents made which was so awesome!! Then we had the not so nice people. On Sunday, when they announced on our teams had won, people were boo-ing us. Also their parents coming up to us and calling us cheaters and telling us many other awful things. Usually I have no complainants about Cheersport and the people their, but this really bothered me. Did anyone else have this issue?

My team competed against your 4.2 team. I was so incredibly impressed with your stunting technique. They were amazing and completely earned that title. If anyone from my organization said anything negative, I would like to know.

Aw thank you so much! We have all been working really hard, that means alot to us! It was a gym that competed against another one of our teams, it wasnt your gym:)

I've heard about one gym that has really bad sportsmanship. I lost all respect for this gym and I don't believe I will get that resepect back. It's sad it were the parents who had a bad sportmanship to other gyms.

I don't recall anyone complaining from our gym about bad sportsmanship, and hopefully it was no one from our gym because our owner would not be pleased, but if they are like me they are in their own little world. LOL I do know whenever I ran into people from other gyms we wished one another luck. Top Gun was our biggest competition in LGCoed5 but ACE and Top Gun love each other. I am sorry for your negative experience but congrats on the win!

I would like to say there was wonderful sportsmanship displayed by the Maryland Twisters Super Cells and the WC Starlites! There even was bonding and pyramids going on with the two teams Sunday night in the hotel! They were calling themselves "Super Lites"
Love! (got any pics of the pyramids)

F5 was also bonding a bit before awards with Spirit of Texas...they are now known as Spirit of F5! My overall impression across the weekend was one of sportsmanship, even with the competitors in our division. It was so incredible close and I know people were disappointed while others happy, but each team there had a lot of respect for each other.

My daughter had to do her share of photo posing and autographing as she left stage, but people were respectful for the most part...HOWEVER, I wasnt thrilled when random people were petting her uniform...happened quite a few times that people wanted to just reach out and touch it and felt they could. We covered it up as soon as possible.

Hahahahaha oh my gosh I wanted to do that so bad... Good to know that they don't like it. Now I will make sure I don't! It just looks so soft... like fur...

I only heard positive things about other teams and was really impressed with the twister moms sitting in front of me. There was a team in LJ4 that had a really terrible day on Sunday. It was so heartbreaking. They ended up not even building their pyro and they were all just standing there in tears. One of the twister moms starting clapping to their dance music and we all joined in and gave them a standing ovation when they finished. Poor things :(

I will say I had some negative thoughts though. I had an issue with two teams sandbagging one of our divisions (if ALL your boys are throwing doubles and standing fulls in warm ups you're NOT truly a level 3....) but that's another thread.....

But I only said anything about the sandbaggers within my group of friends I wouldn't (and didn't) say anything to those teams or families. Even when those same boys passed us waiting at Dantannas sports bar (in the CNN center) talking about the great beer they got there Saturday night....

....Did I mention they looked 35?

Either Dantannas doesn't card (highly possible), they are the baldingest 18 y/o kids ever (also possible).... Or that division should've been an OPEN lv3

And they also didn't win (neither of them) in their division which I thought served some justice. Pretty sure the one team should have, but that's the problem with using a boatload of lv 5 on a lv3.... You can connect a punch front, punch front at level 5....you can't at level three.

Muscle memory = illegal tumbling pass.

I still hold a grudge over the fact that I placed 3th at Cheersport my sophomore year and both teams in front of us had sandbagged from level 4. They were listed as such on the gym websites and it was obvious in their routines. (Throwing squad single BHSs that don't max out in level 3, pretty clear they used to be standing tucks. Straight cradles from one legged stunts that used to be full downs, when most of our division would bump down one legged stunts and reload to extension fulls, etc)

So I feel you there. Cheersport was one of my favorite competitions, but it also has a heavy load of sandbaggings teams changing their routines for that weekend just for the hope of being named Cheersport Nationals Champs.

I agree! The Supercell girls were so sweet and I loved witnessing the mutual respect for each other!

I thought Cheersport was great besides the killer walking we had a good time. All the teams had so much respect toward each other and our division was super close so much talent on all three teams. Our girls took pictures with Stingrays Shooting Stars and Spirit of Texas they were all wonderful. We all love health competition but good sportsmanship goes a long way. I have so much respect for a program that teaches their kid to respect their competitors, The coaches set the stage for the behavior of their kids. This is what you call leading by example. Kudos too you !:chestbump:
