PLEASE do not compete!!!!!!!! I had a concussion earlier in the year (about two months ago) and I had to miss out on Indy because I got itthe practice before. It is worth it to wait and go back 100%!!!! I get hit in the head at practice A LOT and still have to sitout becaise of headaches. i didnt wait long enough either! For your safety and the safety of the rest of your teammates, it is best not to compete!! Feel better, concussions stink!!

Wow I hope you're alright. Definitely don't go back though until you've been symptom free for a week. I've had 5 concussions and because I always went back too early, my last one ended my cheer career. Also, keep in mind that going back too early can not only cause the concussion to take longer to heal but it can also bring on post concussion syndrome which can last weeks or months (I had it for 6 months following one of my concussions). I still get terrible migraines sometimes from all of my concussions and it has seriously impacted my reading and concentration skills, so it's absolutely not worth it to mess around when it comes to your brain. I hope you have a speedy recovery and stay safe! :)

we had a girl not compete with us this weekend for a cuncussion. i am glad she sat out so we can have her all year, instead on just 1 comp. your team understands.

I had a concussion earlier this year, and it's not something you should push yourself to do something unless you've been cleared. I went and worked out because I was out for a month and it made my concussion worse and it can lead to problems later in life if you don't give yourself the right amount of time to heal. Does anyone's school do the online impact test for concussions? At the beginning of the year, football, cheer, soccer, and I think softball had to take the impact test. It's a series of questions, takes a while. I actually never took it because I was scheduled to take it later then I got a concussion before I took it. Hahah but then when you think you have a concussion or head injury you go back to the trainer and take it again and if you failed you "most likely" have a concussion. Just wondering if anyone else's schools do the same thing
Our school does the same test for all sports.

I am still sitting here with my hand over my mouth in horror from that. I am so glad you are okay and please please please take your doctor's and everyone else's advice and do not go back until you are fully cleared whether it be another week, month or longer. As much as we all love cheer you could cause further injury that will impact the rest of your life. Now get off the computer and follow your doctor's orders.
