We don't need another gym here in this city lol

But hmm I wouldn't mind it, probably shut down 80% of them
i definitely wouldn't mind it either. There is talent here its just spread so far around that unless there was one huge gym that came and knocked every other one out the talent isnt going to be in one place.

Pretty p
Pretty positive also. It's really easy to do your homework and find out information. The cheer world is very small believe it or not. I just don't understand why a cheer business wouldn't want to start somewhere and breed their own kids to bring up through the program. Why recruit and take other talent? As a coach it is way more rewarding to me to feel like I had a part of their upbringing in this sport.
It's not just the coaches/owners. I'm surprised no one has really brought up all the gym hopping by the athletes. I'd like to know what are the "best offers" that all these kids & parents are getting that would get them to change gyms so quickly -LOL!

I guess its true, when you are the best you get haters! Haters everywhere!
Haters!! Really? So having an opinion makes you a hater now. I thinks it obvious your involved with CA so I understand your defensive but the points being made are valid.

IMO if you stay with a gym for a year and pay your bills and attend all practices and comps and then move to another gym its NOT gym hopping. Gym hopping to me means leaving midyear, or before a bid comp, which I don't like. If a kid gets a better offer or there is a better gym that meets their needs why shouldn't they go there? At the elite teams, a flyer is replaced if she isn't performing well so why should we get upset if a kid leaves for a better position somewhere else AFTER the comp year? IMO switching gyms keeps coaches and owners alert. You have to continually make sure your customers are satisfied as any other business. I never understood this loyality that some think kids should have to a gym.

The Central Valley gyms are so spread out - CA Livermore is the closest big gym to me here...And nothing against the gyms at all!, but the level of them is not really what I'm looking for...

Some people forget that cheerleading is a bushiness for some people.. They have to make business decisions. If cali can open or take over a gym and make it successful then more power to them, people will always pick the better service for their money.

Yes it is a business but some competitions are like large exhibitions for the large gyms. I loved all stars when there were a lot of smaller gyms around..created a variety in competitions and styles

There should be an FBA award for the Biggest Cheer Drama-filled State.

This year's contenders: Georgia (Trinity versus Georgia versus Everyone), California (Cali Expanding), Maryland (I can't remember why, it was something in the summer) and North Carolina (CEA Expansion). Illinois has been relatively quiet this season, so I'll keep them off the list :p Any other state volunteers?
