I respect the Twisters program very much, what they did for those VA Vipers and allowing them to finish the season was quite admirable.

All details will be released tomorrow.

Unfortunately for twisters all of the old viper va kids are settled in at Cheer Tyme.

This may be true, however there are a good amount of kids that travel from various parts of VA to the Glen Burnie location so maybe that is the motivation if the gym is in VA.

The release today didn't give a location. I know it said residents of MD and VA, but that could still mean anywhere in the area.

The Maryland Twisters is coming to Rockville to launch new level 5 program! We are seeking youth, junior & senior aged level 5 athletes who are ambitious & ready to train with us!
The Twisters will be housed at Shockwave All-Stars in Rockville, MD! We are conveniently located less than 30 minutes than Virginia! Twisters and Shockwave have joined together as sister gyms but will be operating as separate programs under the same roof. Twisters will field a variety of level 5 teams to include, but not limited to, youth, junior, Senior Restricted and/or a Worlds team. As you know, the Twisters are the only Maryland cheer program who have medaled at The Cheerleading Worlds each season.
Twisters will be hosting an open house and tryout clinic at Shockwave All-Stars on Saturday, May 4th from 10:00-12:00PM. Tryouts for Twisters level 5 teams in Rockville will be Wednesday, May 15th from 5:00-9:00PM. The new Twisters teams will have callbacks on Thursday, May 23rd from 6:00-9:00PM. Even if you are a level 5 athlete in training, we want to see you!"

well I'll definitely be curious to see how this all works out...

are they forming/growing a level 5 program with the goal of having shock wave be able to sustain the athletes themselves (and MD twisters stepping out) in the future? not sure I understand the logistics of how this will work, but if all parties are happy good for them and I wish them luck!

So basically MT are practicing in the shockwave facilities and taking all their level 5 athletes?

When they say 30 mins from VA, they are really saying its an hour nicely. But from my understanding they are expanding there level 5 program and hopefully having a team in each lvl 5 division.

yeah...30 minutes from virginia at 3 oclock in the morning. not exactly the same driving envrionment at 5-6 pm lol

Exactly, now leaving Va at 5 is not bad but once you hit that Dc/MD line you hit that Dc/government traffic. Sucker ain't no joke. But Im really excited for twisters.
