It is so hot, like I don't think I've ever felt temperatures this hot in my life. It's still 101 and it's already 8pm!
Back where I moved from, it's only 63 right now and the high there today was only 79 degrees!

Yay welcome to the "real world", that glorious place grown tried to prepare you for your whole life. -___- but seriously, I feel your pain. When tax time came around I thought I was gonna be ok since I got so much taken out of pay checks. My dad came into my room to tell me I owed $800+. Yep, I cried. You think I, a college kid working 2-3 jobs, have $800 just sitting around someplace? So frustrating. I love living in NY where we have the highest taxes... Fun times.

But aren't all of your healthcare and education costs covered by the government? As well as paid maternity leave and childcare which is pretty extensive?

At least you can see where your taxes - and your parent's - directly go and how it immediately benefits you. But yes, 30% out of a paycheck definitely hurts.

so the dreaded day is here where my student loans have come out of deferment. 
compared to my friends i have such a crazy low amount of debt i can't even complain. but anyway so i had one really huge loan my freshman year because it was the year my sister and i overlapped and were both in college. so my mom has been slowly paying it off the last 5 years (thanks momma) and there's only $75 left. (actually she completely paid it off and then they were like "wait, here's some interest you forgot!")
so i was looking at the monthly payment for each loan individually instead of just the whole number they gave me. for that measly $75, i owe 11.75 a month for 60 months. that's $705. for $75. this just boggles my mind. like i am so baffled. i am not even going to do the math for my loans that are 2 and 3 thousand. i don't want to know. i have the means currently and just paid the $75 in full today instead. but really?! i hate the government.
