What I am curious about is the non international Open 4......I know they compete but, aside from the international summit, is there an end of season competition for them?
Can someone explain the purpose behind open 4 to me? I am slightly confused. Unless they are international they can't compete at the d1/d2 summit, correct? So is this level just supposed to be for fun? Is there a lot of competition for Open 4? I think our gym is debating having one and I am just...
If you look at the housing website it doesn't look like the all have required stays just the big ones....it does however look like they all have options to book through Varsity.....I am confused though on what the difference is between a Passkey event and one that requires a stay is

LOL I do think the Summit is trying to tighten the rules a bit :) I know its hard when you get a bunch of backlash from owners. I also agree that for D2 a 2 level gap should be the most that is aloud. I know at our gym the 2 that cross between lvl2 and lvl4 one doesn't tumble lvl4 at all but is...
Right now for the D2 Summit they can only compete on 2 teams maximum. Unfortunately I'm not 100% sold that the level rule would work for true D2 gyms. There seems to be quite a few gyms that don't have all levels...for example they may have a J2 and a Sr4 with a couple crossovers between the...
So I guess this is another good debate that is going both ways.....if you've been competing at one level and not doing so well its ok to drop a level to be more competitive but if you've been competing a lower level and killing it and decide to go higher and do equally as well, is it considered...
So now I'm curious about another instance that popped up last night after the bid reveal....I started this convo about teams dropping levels but what about those that move up a level? What happens when a team had been competing as one level and earns a bid and then decides they want to push...
See this is what I was curious about.....I completely understand having to switch levels due to injuries and honestly maybe even being a little overenthusiastic on having a higher level team that the athletes weren't 100% ready for.....but how many times is it because they just want to win?
Those are all very good points.....I guess I wonder also is how long should you push for a level if its clear its not working? I hadn't really ever thought about this happening before so when I saw the video it made me wonder if this was pretty common. Also do you have to fill out any kind of...
Not starting this thread with the intention of being judgy but am generally curious about peoples opinions on this. I was bored one day at work and started watching videos on Varsity TV of teams with summit bids. I noticed one team with a lvl3 bid had been competing as a lvl4 until recently. Is...
It wasn't that they were scored lower, I believe it was because at the ultimate battle the were on .1 behind CJA and on day one that gap jumped to 1.2 point behind them. With both teams hitting again they were trying to figure out why such a big difference.
My CP's gym Northern Lights is bringing all 6 of their eligible teams to the Summit with 2 paid bids and 4 at larges :) we are super proud of all of them
Yes and the same thing happened at NCA if you look at the score sheet. Team Gunz out scored GI Pros both days but ultimately came in behind them because of a 1.5 deduction on day 2. The scores for both teams between these 2 comps seem pretty similar which I guess is why I am confused by the...
I guess I am in the boat where I am just confused by what exactly they were protesting....I mean I understand that they feel they performed better on Saturday then they did Friday and their score went down, which sucks, but I am also under the impression that there was a whole different judging...
CheerMAD.com GI PROs marked the routine today because: Friday night its raw score at Battle at the Beach's "Ultimate Battle" (which had exclusively Worlds teams competing) GI Pros raw score, no deductions performance was .1 behind Central Jersey All Stars (the only other Small Coed Level 5 team...
