The way you made this one is correct. It's even in the newbie section.

At the top of this page, where it says "Forum Cheerleading Newbies All Newbies - PLEASE READ!"

click on "Newbies" and it will take you to the full Newbies section. You can also click on the "Forum" menu at the top left corner under the Fierce Girl picture to navigate all over the boards.

That should get you started.
