My stunt group has been having a lot of trouble with one thing lately the flyer isnt doing her part.
Should we talk to the coaches? Any suggestions are welcome but please pose them nicely!

ask her what she needs. What she needs may not be the same as what you think she needs, plus it's a nice way to open communication within the group. No blame placed and looking for solutions towards success.

What do you mean when you say she isnt 'doing her part?'

Is it that she isnt working as hard as the bases?

I am sure your coaches are probably already aware that there is a problem, so try to make sure that any comments you make are constructive rather than just critical. Its very easy for a flyer to loose all confidence if she knows that the bases think it is her fault, which obviously is a vicious circle.

Speak to your coaches but after practice as there may be issues which you arent aware of which is affecting the flyer!

What part isn't she doing? Did she have a bad experience and is just terrified? Is she having difficulty adjusting to a new stunt group? Is she scared to death of heights and scared to say anything? I agree that opening a "what do you need" convo is probably the best way to approach this.

Definitely talk to your flyer, and see what it is that makes her feel uncomfortable. Sometimes, it's not necessarily anything physically wrong that the bases are doing. Trust has a HUGE role in stunting...if a flyer doesn't trust her bases, or vice versa, to hit the stunt, no amount of correct repetition is going to help. Talk to her!! It may be something completely un-cheer related that's going on, that's making her question her ability in the air, or the ability of the bases. Try not to show your frustration....that will only make matters worse. Pump her up, be positive, and be willing to accept some of the responsibility of the stunt not hitting...you're a team, and you guys will get through it!

before going to the coach, talk to your flyer. if she is being loose or lazy, tell her it is difficult to do your part when she is flopping around up there. ask her if maybe her foot is uncomfortable, or if she feels off balance. there may be a reason for her looseness. if she just isn't trying, like she pulls a stretch lazily, or never stretches her splits so her flexibility is atrocious then tell her she needs to stretch. make a comment on how gorgeous the point flyers flexibility is, and then tell her that she is going to look like that.

however, if she is just being a brat about it and refuses to cooperate, then speak to the coach. explain that you want this group to work but your flyer just doesn't seem into it. say that you spoke to your flyer but you didn't make much of an impact. and then have your coach watch your stunt group each practice so he/she can add corrections and criticisms.
