I haven't seen this on the board anywhere. Does anyone have any info about this? This is what's posted on the CHEERSPORT website. It sounds promising to me, maybe score sheets are starting to move to that universal philosophy. This is from their site......
"CHEERSPORT's success has been built upon our desire to listen to our customers and change based on their input. Over the last several years, our customers have become more and more concerned about the differences between judging systems at various competitions. Based on feedback from the coaches, we decided to review our scoring system and determine if there was room for improvement.
After extensive review and discussions, CHEERSPORT is pleased to announce that we will adopt a scoring system very similar to the Varsity All-Star Score Sheet. There will be some minor differences but the underlying system and philosophies will be the same. Varsity has allowed us to work with them as they have developed their systems and we are confident that our new score sheet will work very well for all of our mutual customers. In other words, the percentages to score in the High Range and the Cheerleading Grid will be the same, so you do NOT have to change your routines from one competition to the next, especially teams competing within the Varsity Family Plan. We also believe this will significantly improve the consistency of judging because judges will no longer have to learn and understand different scoring systems.
We will publish our actual score sheets prior to the end of the summer, but wanted you to be informed about the direction we are heading as soon as possible. If you have any questions, please feel free to call our office any time at 1- 888-Ready-OK. CHEERSPORT will have a booth, with all of our Territory Managers, at all 6 of the upcoming USASF Regional Meetings and we will be happy to speak with you there as well."
Thoughts? Outside of one national competition, our gym stays pretty much to CHEERSPORT and Varsity events. This seems like it will be a big help to us to work on perfecting a clean routine rather than changing it between every competition.
