You can get extended medical insurance for however long you're going from your insurance company. My grandparents live in Arizona half the year and do this. It's quite expensive though especially because my grandfather is type 2 diabetic.

Well since I am assuming he's not subscribed to an insurance company (UK has government funded health care) he'd have to pay for travelers insurance which is quite expensive, but way less expensive then the possibility of paying for hospital bills without insurance!!! I wonder if that's included in the 10K he's fundraising for..?
