All-Star Help Kicking Up Needle

My CP has a gorgeous needle, but her coach said she needs to learn how to kick it up into position so she can pull it faster. If she learns to kick it up fast the Coach will put it in the routine. My CP has been trying & trying, but just doesn't get how to do this. Any drills, exercises, pointers, advice, etc. is greatly appreciated. She is very, very flexible, but doesn't get how to kick it into position.

(I posted it in the skill section first, but didn't get any responses. So, I am trying it here instead. LOL)
