All-Star Hip Flexor Injury

I think I may have a hip flexor injury but i'm not sure...

How can you tell if you have one?
What is the best thing to do about it?
Are there any stretches or exercises you can do to help?

Also is it possible to not take time off and just push through the pain?
 
Try walking up stairs, if it hurts on the top/front of your thigh it's probably a hip flex injury. I had a few minor strains this year that healed quickly but YOU MUST REST IT. Ice for 15 minutes every hour straight after training, don't do jumps or squats, gently stretch it throughout the day. Mine were usually fine after a week. Once it's healed make sure you do strengthening exercises and ease back into whatever it was you were doing when you hurt it. Talk to a doctor or a trainer though to make sure it's your flexor and not a problem with your joint or something that's going to be a recurring problem. Self-diagnosis is a bad bad idea.
