Yall, please.. I know the grammar isn't perfect but Tonya is the nicest person. I don't live in GA but have known Tonya, Angel, and Kiki since my Droplet was a tiny. They are wonderful people and I would move mountains to get my kid in a place to take tumbling from Tonya if we were closer. She is a brilliant coach, from getting my tiny to throw her BHS for the first time on the floor to helping really solid tumblers.

I'm not sure about owning a gym at 16, but Kiki will do great things in her life too, so I'm sure she will lead it in the right direction.

But mom says she is working at ATA, not this gym. Seems like she made sure to make that distinction.

As for the grammar: grammar errors ALWAYS bother me, but really you guys... this is a post on Twitter, not a formal business announcement.

@FlexyTumblerMom wow. A grammar mistake (or auto correct mistake) on Twitter makes you think that woman is uneducated?
Well the way you are so judgmental and holier than thou on several issues makes me think you are either uneducated or lead an extremely sheltered life. Is that a fair assessment?
There are ways to disagree with people without degrading them.

It was announcement of a new business w/ a glaring grammar mistake - seems careless to me like either she didn't put much thought into it (when she should have - I'm guessing she has more than a handful of followers, right?), or didn't even know it was wrong.

I know AR is an extraordinary tumbler and deserves some national recognition, but it seems a little premature/exploitive for someone to use her "name" to open a for-profit gym before she even graduates high school - and I suspect her stint on the smoed show was mostly about gaining more exposure/fame to prep for this gym opening than anything else now.

looks like AR has more plans for next year

not the olympics for trampoline and tumbling, the olympics for artistic gymnastics? or by answering yes to "all the apparatuses" did she mean the mini trampoline and all those events?

The all the apparatuses comment sounded like the "regular" team gymnastics to me. Could that even be possible?
He said 'Beam and all that?' and she said 'Yes.' So maybe she did mean artistic?

Could it be possible? Sure. But she probably wouldn't be cheering anymore, and she sure as heck won't be having time to open a gym.

She's 16, so she's at the age where most girls are already competing at the Olympics/internationally. There's some STEEP competition for Rio, and I'm pretty sure if she was working beam/bars someone would have posted a clip. We don't really need a floor/vault worker (we're super deep in that field with new girls/former Olympians all), which is where she'd excel. We need someone on bars, which is a different skill set and much harder to learn at an older age (trust me- it was hard at 13/14, never mind 16). It's also 2015. Olympics are a little over a year away.

Aka doubtful. I think she just meant tramp and tumbling, which she has every probability of not only making that team but succeeding admirably.

As for coaching- it's a LOT harder than most people realize, never mind coaching WELL. It might be like in the acting world: Executive Producer vs. Creative Producer. Creative makes the artistic decisions (for cheer would be names, colors, maybe she'd teach tumbling/stunt clinics- but is she certified yet?)..Executive does logistics (that'd be location, team structure/set up, practice times, bills, paperwork). Also- does this mean she's not cheering at Rays? Would they be ok with her opening her own gym while cheering there, especially since she made a worlds team (Orange, correct?).

there are different apparatuses for T&T which would make a lot more sense. is it possible she meant artistic? uhhh, I guess. she'd have to go elite right now and compete all of the major events the upcoming season, get major experience, get to the olympic trials and be selected by the committee... who take past experience and all that jazz into account. all before Rio 2016. so less than a year  and beat out all of the phenomenal elites who are in the running for the team... I 100% support kids having goals and going after their dreams, but that's... ambitious.

though, unless it's changed you have to be 18 for the T&T olympic team. (which she might be, since it's 18 at any point during the olympic year. IDK when her birthday is) since she made junior olympic team for T&T that makes perfect sense and I hope she makes it. though I think they only take one male and one female so the odds might be even harder.

I may be :confused: about her business skills in opening a gym prematurely, but that kid is a phenomenal athlete and I truly hope she accomplishes her dreams with tumbling.

Thank you guys. I had no idea that "artistic" was the word I was looking for. That means that I learned something new before 9 am on a Sunday....can I go back to bed now?

of course you can :p too much thinking on rest day.

maybe she's competing rhythmic gymnastics and sitting here laughing at all of us idiots because we're all wrong.

I wholeheartedly agree with most of your statements, but if this young lady is going to make the Olympic gymnastics team, she must be the best 4th athlete in the country...I heard the USA Olympic committee are only choosing 4 athletes, so she must be 1 of the best in all of the events and not be a specialist...Additionally, many of the prime athletes have already been chosen from the America Cup, Visa Cup and better yet, from this year World Cup and are training together already...Maybe, she is setting her sight for the 2020 Olympics, and then I wish her good luck!
