I transferred schools after 1 semester, so don't ever feel like you're alone. i was literally miserable. like cried everyday. had no friends. no car so i couldn't even visit home or my friends at their schools. it was awful. and i'm a rather social person, it was just like there were cliques and i didn't fit into any of them. i'm normally a straight A student and my grades were falling, it was terrible. Add in that my mom started getting extremely sick during this time and i later found out she was hospitalized but didn't want to tell me because she knew i'd breakdown.. ugh. i felt like a failure telling my parents that i wanted to come home. my parents were awesome about it after i let them know what was going on. i transferred to a school semi-close to home. applied in october and did a campus tour while home for thanksgiving break. moved out when everyone was going home for christmas.

i still have an occasional as$hole family member mention how i couldn't even make it away from home and i'm a baby. cut the umbilical cord blah blah blah. it hurts a little, but ya know what? i'm happy. i made the right decision for me, graduated with honors, and made some pretty awesome friends along the way. you'll be fine. do what you need to do for you. F everyone else :)

I attempted to color my hair with eyeshadow in the similar 'hair-chalking' trend (as I can't do ANY type of permanent color with my career)..it SORTA worked. The glitter/shimmer sure stayed in. The color is hard to tell as my hair is so dark and I probably should have layered a lighter color underneath. Ah well, I have TONS of cheap bright eyeshadow I'm never gonna wear so yay.

Meine Lehrer! Er ist nicht sehr gut. Und die Klasse ist.. pointless, haha.

Haha, I liked it my first two semesters freshman year. But this class just has no direction and the homework is completely unrelated to what we do in class. And I feel like I'm not learning anything or getting better at speaking.

Talking with my dad on the phone tonight: "So the cat fell in the pool the other day"... Apparently he was drinking or trying to catch a frog and fell in but twisted himself like the contortionist cats are so his head wouldn't get wet and swam to the steps to get out.. I miss home! Can't wait to go back in two weeks!

Thanks! Since I bookmarked "New Posts" I usually don't see the twitter board. Well, I guess he shouldn't underestimate the power of the fierceboard. Plus his tweet definitely reassured me in not shoving my money to his business.

It's "Mein Lehrer" unless you have multiple ones. Sorry for being the grammar nazi ;-)
I guess it's hard if you have the feeling you learn nothing new in a class.
My cp is complaining about her new english teacher this year all the time. She says he is not correcting anyone and a couple weeks ago she was arguing with him because he said the word "pretzl" was written "bretzl".
Let's see how they will get along all year.
(Feel free to correct my english if there are grammatical errors, it's been a while i left school)

Every so often I scroll the twitter board, because all sorts of crazy twitter drama goes on there and it's easy to see. I just happened to see it and I laughed.

My sister is a freshman at a college 3 hrs away from home and 3 hrs away from where I live. She honestly isn't acclimating very well. She is an introvert, soft spoken, whatever the opposite of outgoing is and just hasn't been meeting people in general. Her roommate is a hoodrat from some country bumpkin town in Georgia...so they haven't been meshing together at all. In fact when I was in their apartment last weekend for family weekend I called the girl triflin to her face...because she is.

I gave her a speech that was like "transfer to Carolina!...transfer to my under grad alma mater!...transfer to CofC, you have friends there!!"

She said no. Shes adamant about sticking it out. Its the only university near by that has her major.

Since she doesn't want to leave I told her she needed to make more of an effort to meet people because I guarantee that at her campus with like 6k freshman at least 5,500 are feeling as alone and home sick as she is.

If she wants to transfer good for her. If she wants to stay there, even better for her. College is too expensive to be miserable.

After my speech (last weekend) shes met people, shes now eating meals with other people instead of by herself, shes stopped texting me all day (in fact I haven't gotten a text from her since yesterday).

Moral of my story. I've noticed @TinyBlondie15 posts that seemed a little sad and I assumed it was more than likely freshman year of college related. Just know that you're not alone and more often that not the other freshman on your campus are feeling the way you're feeling. Do whats best for you. If that means going to a university closer to home then do it. If it truly has the major you truly want and this is not just a justification to leave, even better. Do whats best for you and YOLO.

But until December stay positive, go out and meet (more) people and make the most of your time there.

(BTW, I wanted to transfer after my fall semester my freshman year. I decided to stick it out. Best decision ever)
