Ok so I am a coach at a smaller gym and we only have a couple boys in our whole program. The few boys that we do have are VERY talented and just all around good kids. We recently went to Worlds, we didn't make it past prelims but were proud to be there anyway especially because none of the bigger names in our area made it very far either. Now these bigger named gyms are constantly calling, texting, emailing, and facebooking our boys trying to get them to switch gyms. Keep in mind these are not ATHLETES from other gyms but COACHES. Also this isn't just one or two little texts, it's daily contact. The boys have made it more than clear that they have absolutely no intention of leaving yet the badgering hasn't let up. Any advice on how to handle the situation would be greatly appreciated.

We've had the same problem at my current gym! We actually had the boys personally go to the other gym and told them very kindly that they have decided to stay at our gym and they would like to stop receiving messages, and if they change there minds they will be sure to give them a call!

If you feel like the other gym won't retaliate against your gym you could send them a letter asking them to stop contacting your athletes. It may not work, but at least you will have proof that you asked.
