High School Run Thru Signs

Does your team create run-thru signs for the football team? What do you hold them up with? How big do you usually make them?

Our team has down this in the past with butcher paper, but we always have a problem holding them up. So if your team has a great way, let me know!

We use butcher paper. Paint a saying on them & then put the boys names & numbers. Never have had a problem holding them up though.

When I was in high school we used the long colored rolls of paper, probably 2-3 feet tall and typically tape two-three of them together. If we used 3 sheets, we would put two people up in preps on either side to hold it up.

We have one that was ordered off line that is like a hard plastic that Velcro's together with long polls that are easy to hold and you can keep reusing it

Pool noodles, y'all. Use pool noodles as the "poles" taped on the ends of the paper - easy to hold onto, and if they fall and knock someone in the noggin, they don't hurt.

We use PVC Pipe. Started with a run through sign, that had sewn holes for the pipes. The run through was hung as decoration in the school lobby :banghead:. Not like we needed it or anything, so now we have to make paper ones. Still use the pipe if its super large. Just girls in preps if its a smaller one.

when I was in high school, I know that's a long time ago but, we had our shop class make a wooden frame, lightweight but sturdy enough to hold together. We then used the colored rolls of paper and stapled them on to the frame then decorated it. As a coach now, we've only done one run through (we only have basketball) but we used only two posts on each side. We've always done shoulder sits to hold the signs just as they are a bit sturdier than shoulder stands.

In midgets I did. In high school we have a Velcro. But in midget I remember they had a perforator like tool. They also but some rips on the top and bottom to make it break easier

As you can see they are held up by ropes and are rather large.

Well that puts ours to shame...it's so huge (in a totally awesome way)

My team did them each week... I'll try to post as many as I can find pics of..

This was for our huge rival game. We had won the past three years (hence the 4-peat).

This is another rival of ours and their school is Palm Harbor University High, aka PHU so we often call them by PH-Who

Our JV team had a big sign that we re-used every game that was connected in the middle by Velcro. It was held up by big poles and rope.

We have a reusable one as well, though the one my girls have is not as big as that one above.
