i like to sit in a right split and lean back. and i just do my scorpion comfortably, and then pull and pull and pull and hold it. also, i lay on my stomach and pull my leg over my head.
 
tie a belt to your foot and pull.

splits in gereral
practicing the body position more so than anything just 'cause you stretch it doesn't mean you can do it.. you could have perfect splits and a horrible toe touch/scorp/ etc..
 
It's kindda hard to explain but you stand in the door frame and put your back leg up against the frame. It's great for getting lower back flexibility!

your basically doing a split but instead of your legs on the ground they are in the doorframe vertical
