Yeah...about the size thing, my daughter is a late bloomer. She was probably her smallest compared to the charts at 13 and about that size. She had a big growth spurt over the last year (she's 14.5) and doesn't stand out as much as the weirdly tiny teenager. She's about 4'10" and 85lbs now (and still growing). Some kids just grow late.

Eta: when she was 13, she was being seen often by several specialists to be sure her size wasn't due to a medical issue. (It was not. lol!)

Went back to reread some of these posts in case anyone is wondering about the shimmies! Good lunch time reading. Quite funny!

This is a serious question - since my cp is 14 and probably 130 lbs, does anyone on here have a 13 year old that weighs around 68 lbs? (I think she said her little darling was 13) That seems pretty underweight to me but I can only go by my own kid.

I posted this before but I'm 4'11 at 30. I've been 4'11 since about 6th grade.

So I'm not a tall girl.

I have also always been on the small side. I'm not putting my exact current weight out there but I can tell you that I didn't break 100 pounds until high school.

I was regularly in a double digit weight at her age.

If she is short, that is actually a pretty normal weight (i. e. it wouldn't raise any eyebrows from the doctor.)

I just really dislike social media temper tantrums. I get parents and kids feeling disappointed when they hear something they weren't prepared to hear...but deal with it...privately. Ugh.
Yes!! I actually deleted a SM today from my FB, she has complained for over a week about her cp not making the team she deserved [emoji15] and anyone that told her that her Suzie was still very young and to trust the coaches decision, she deleted the comments! Really lady! [emoji35] kinda funny that a week before results she was posting videos of her Suzie flying with 200+pound coaches stunting her! Yes Suzie does okay when the huge guys stunt her but can she do that with her peers? She was amusing to have as a FB friend but I can only handle to much crazy[emoji23][emoji15]

I've always been short. Never once had a big growth spurt. I'm really 4'11 pretending to be 5'-you know every short chick out there counts every inch. Lol that sounds so inappropriate lol the way I worded that "inch" part. Anyway I was so excited when two people were shorter than me. I had to like bend down to give them hugs. Lol that never happens to me. It's usually the other way around. People bending down to hug me. #shortpeopleproblems

I am quite tall 5'7 or 5'8 since we have the metric system im not sure (i am 175 and a half in sm) but i am skinny. i only weigh about 125 pounds (again we have the kilo system and i weigh about 58-60 kg) i know i weigh to little but i just cant gain weight. ive tried literally everything

I am so lost. Usually I can figure it out but the search feature on Twitter and Instagram is not being very useful today :(. Guess that mom really locked down her accounts.

Im curious to know what happens when these kids make the team based on the video they sent in but once they get to that teams practice they cant throw half the skills they did in the video consistently. Do these big name gyms move these kids down to a lower level? What happens if you fly to lets say cali and make the team but once you get there you cant keep up or throw the skills in your video so they move you down? I know these gyms have a lot of talent to pull from so do they feel bad moving a kid down that just flew across the country to cheer at your gym?

If i were to give a kid a spot on my team based on a video submission i would want them to send videos of them competing skills at competitions. not just throwing skills once for a video.
im guessing that if someone flies into cali and doesnt like the team that theyre placed on, theyll most likely go back home or go to some other program in another state such as north carolina.

I'm a senior in high school (18 years old) and have been 4'11 since I was in 7th grade. I started puberty pretty young, around the summer between 3rd and 4th grade so I reached my full height early on. Been a flyer ever since I started cheering sophomore year. I didn't break into the 100's until late junior year. However, this year I suddenly gained more weight and shot up into 110-115 territory. It was weird because I finished growing completely since 7th grade and then suddenly senior year I grew a little more haha (It wasn't bad weight gain. More like filling out). So I really wouldn't be surprised if the girl was 13 and 68 pounds. Every person's body grows differently.

Oh man, but she was entertaining. Sort of like a train wreck, you just couldn't look away!

I bet anything they said she needed to work on body control and holding her weight in the air and the mom blew it out of proportion. 68 pounds doesn't mean much if the flyer is flailing around in the air.

Yes! Smaller girls without good technique have the potential to develop what I like to call Teeny Tiny Flyer Syndrome.

Teeny Tiny Flyer Syndrome has the following symptoms:

Not holding weight in stunts.
Not powering oneself in baskets and expecting bases to practically toss dead weight.
Relying too heavily on bases in general.

People suffering from Tiny Flyer Syndrome also blame bases for all stunt falls because in their minds, holding up 80 lbs is not hard.
