Saw this on Facebook and it's very encouraging! Unfortunately ACL tears are common place in girl's soccer as well.

Tore mine September 2011. Had a replacement in October. Very lucky in my that Augusta is a very medically centered community and actually had my new tendon put in by a doctor who actually helped pioneer the technique that is used for ACL replacement.
Surgery was great, all things considered, but rehab was terrible. I can honestly say that 3 years later my knee is actually in pretty good shape for a guy who is almost 40.
