Wow. Wonder if that means youth allstar?
Another thing that was predicted years ago that was denied. It was bound to happen. They are a business and they don't want their businesses diversifying into anything that they can't make money off. We say All Star is too expensive, they don't make it less expensive but they come up with a way to cut into the cheerleading business they once said (many many years ago) they wanted no part of.
I see they are trying to cast the widest net possible with no age minimums, S 18 and under, J 14 and under etc. Can't wait to see what the qualifying events are and WHERE they are...more stay to play?@all4sarah it's not allstar, Varsity's website describes the division breakdown:

Please no! Having a separate event in that way would be so difficult for families with multiple children who cheer, coaches being away for Worlds and Summit already, etc.I predicted this in another thread too, a YOUTH and MINI based bid event.

This is really depressing. So many people are shouting from the rooftops about the direction of the sport and instead of being introspective and responding to customer needs Varsity just doubles down to expand the concept.
But in this case, depending on what these Quest events are, it would be Varsity's choice. They could make the qualifying events local competitions where these teams already compete, state tournaments (perhaps attending a certain number or placement at the events), etc or will they create new events that require travel and bid chasing?I said it in another thread, but the direction of youth sports is now government driven. If you want to use their facilities, you are going to have to cough up some hotel usage (STP) which is how they gauge the success of these sport parks and convention centers. This is not just Varsity, this is the face of youth sports across the board.
