I hope they see that dividing the division did not work out....if you look you will see that teams that ultimately scored higher did not make finals when you break out the groups they might of been in the top but then when you merge them together they were no where close. If I was a coach of one of these teams that scored higher then other teams in a different group I would not be happy, especially since its the same panel that just took and hour break, why not just say they are taking a break. I don't get it.

They divide the group because they are already judging for about 4 straight hours. Do you think if they were judging for 8 straight hours the results would get more accurate?

I am not saying the solution is perfect, but its the best possible solution for the situation I think.

No what I am saying is that if its the same panel and they have just taken an hour break why not just keep the scores all together and be accurate......some of these teams deserved to make it off of scores. That is all =)

I agree with this. Splitting the division seemed to work fine but having teams that outscored 7 of the teams from group A who advanced to finals yet they didn't advance seems off.

agreed. small coed the same happened. no way every B team in finals outscored every A team in finals except for the top ten? and almost all teams who made finals from A were lower scores from B how is that possible. I knew it would happen and it was really unfair

I think there is no perfectly 'fair' solution is the problem. 8 hours of judging will produce some skewed results in there as well. I think the judges got it as 'right' as anyone reasonably could.

or instead of taking the top 20 or whatever from each group they could have taken the top 15 from each and then the 10 next highest scores, sort of like they do in track and field with trials to semis to finals.

well i agree about where they placed the top ten which is prolly all they cared about. but its a big deal to everyone 11th or lower too where they place at worlds.

When 8 teams make it to finals that scored lower than your team who didn't make it to finals, it's not right, period. Have Groups A and B, fine. But why would they not wait until after Group B had performed and tablulated all of the scores to determine the finalists by scores????? What is the point of announcing Group A finalists before Group B competes???

Same thing happened in small limited... They must have called out 8 teams from Group A before they ever called a team advancing to finals in Group B. Could someone post the scores for A&B Small Limited? I have B if someone else has A, just interested in seeing where we stood..

Exactly what I was trying to say. It's a hard pill to swallow to know that you outscored so many teams who made it to finals, yet your team didn't get the chance. I understand the judges did what they were suppose to for this year and what they were instructed to do but it doesn't make it right. I also understand that we wouldn't even be in a position to wonder why things went this way if we had hit a solid routine but that also doesn't make it right.

I actually thought they were combining A & B and then taking the top 60%.

I agree with you, it's not right, period!
