I wanna know since CP is not cheering next year is @Pebbles49 going to take a break from the board??
I probably lurk in Allstars, but I am really fascinated with the Rec Cheer area and will be visiting and I hope contributing in this area... I have very limited knowledge of Rec Cheer and just in 2 days, I already learned a lot about it from reading fierceboard ..

Of course, I must recant any statements I made about Rec Cheer and any hurt feelings because of my ignorant statements made, we definitely are looking forward to having fun...

I will personally accept this on behalf of all Rec teams. Thank you.....and no, we are not nealry as falshy as AS but most certainly we can be, are as good and even better at the sport of cheerleading and most chertainly cheaper.....

Before this thread takes another left turn at rec cheerleading...

My cp cheered rec for about five years before she started AS but they didn't compete. Just did sideline. They just started competing this year and I'm so happy for them! They've done really well and look great! Go Bucs!

Better at the sport of cheerleading!?! You and Pebbles will be perfect for each other!
How can I put this.....Yes absolutely! Many have the concept that Rec does not have a leg to stand on when it comes to a comparison with AS cheerleading, which could not be farther from the truth. Granted that they are many rec teams that do not have adequate and/or appropriate coaching staff; but the same goes for many AS gyms......Now from my own experience as a rec coach, before we started strictly UCA competitions, we did Reach the Beach, Battle at the Capital and other AS competitions where we competed against AS teams and won, many times. Now we strictly do UCA and it is the same. We are able to do this because we have experienced and knowledgeable coaches.
So I will not put everyone in one basket and say they can't compete, but I will look at each individual squad/team and make that decision. however after 15+ years of coaching, I have seen many many Rec teams that have and continue to out perform AS teams.
So yes I take offence when individuals make the reference Rec is not as good as, because it is not true....expecially when we currently have AS teams trying their hardest to lour our Rec cheerleaders to join their gyms....I know I have posted this information some where here on this board before, but a season we had 8 of our cheerleaders leave and go to an AS gym all starting at level 4 & 5.....the reason why they left is because they were not good enough to make it to the most competitive teams that we have so they would not have been competiting as much, so they left. If they were not good at the sport of cheerleading, It would not have been possible for them to go to a very well known gym and actually make it on to a worlds competing team.
Please do not put me in your basket, do your research and then come at me with some accurate information.
thanks

I must have missed the memo. I only saw one poster on here say anything negative about rec., and you are missing @MOPSMommy1 's point entirely (or maybe I am)
