I already like the blonde that said "most of us aren't 4 time champs, the name is". It seemed like a lot of athletes in the past forgot that so it was refreshing to hear her say that.

I know it's supposed to be dramatic to entice people but Eddie was like the male Abby Lee in that. Mostly the "I want to win" part irked me. This shouldn't be about you as the coach, it should be about the athletes as a whole.

This annoyed me too! It seems like he cares more about the name winning than the kids very ALDC like

Side note: has Smoed really only been around 5 seasons? I guess I didn't realize that the show started with them on their first season. Or is my math off a year?

Thy used to be a junior team, I believe they switched to the senior division for the 2011 season.

Thanks! I knew they came from a Jr team, but I just assumed smoed was always there and they became known with the kids that came from the jr team moved up.

When they won worlds, in 2010, they were a small junior coed team. 2011 was their official year as smoed., and came second to BSB.

I wish the best for the new faces. They seem to really want to be there, and they seem to care more about having a happy drama-free season, and that something you've gotta respect!

Honestly, doesn't look like something I'll be interested in watching anymore. I just can't respect the coache(s) anymore!

2. Backspots grab the ankles in a basket? I have never heard of that "Backspots on the ankles, never the under the hands" is what he said but I've only ever done a basket with the back under the hands or I've seen people have their backs on the butt but I've never heard of the ankles.

I was happy to proper motion technique being taught! From my experience throwing from the ankles gives a lot more height but the flyer has to have body control and be able to stand quickly on her own. I think thats one of the reasons its not used as often.

I can only answer the 1st question but Maddie isn't the only returner. There's 6! She's just the only one that has been on smoed all 5 years. a lot of the other ones that were also (jazzy, kassidy and some others) aged out.

side note, she says she still has 2 years of eligibility.. So she's 16? Possibly 17? I didn't really like how she was calling everyone on the team "kids".. just me? Idk I just didn't like it

This. I know it's got alot to do with the editing and Maddie is a good kid. But to me she felt a bit condescending in this episode. Like when she was saying all the new people thinks it's a lot easier than it is and all. I'm pretty sure everyone and their mother gets how tough their training is by now..

I think a lot of it has to do with the pressure she has on her. She's been there since the start, she knows how Eddie works and now it's her duty to be the leader and I think she's just a little scared for that right now since she's never had to lead before. I think she's just putting a lot of pressure on herself. I think she's always been a leader, but its always easier when you have other, older kids who have been here just as long to put pressure off. Now, it's really just her.

cheerleaders was still happening last year! they just cancelled it mid season
