Im confused what level is youth silver because the one girl had a full and the other one i think her name was zorran had jumps to a tuck but olivia didnt even have a backhandspring and she wanted to make youth silver......SO CONFUSING

If I'm someone on the outside wandering whether or not to get my kid involved in this and watched the show I wouldn't do it. We don't need anymore of this crap for this sport!

How many kids do you think went to go cheer because they saw Cheerleader Nation? I believe many people considered that a great reflection of what cheerleading is really like, but I'm sure people that saw it knew they weren't going to be National Champions if they just went out and joined a team. And it works both ways - just because a show casts the typical "dumb jock", doesn't make me think every athlete is stupid. Most people have enough common sense to tell what is being staged, but in the end it's all entertainment. So of course people are going to say "oh, just what I expected from a bunch of cheerleaders", that's just the way people are.
(This isn't directed at you, just my response)

I already said this in a different thread, kinda. And YES I do like it when shows represent cheerleaders in a good light and I wish it happened more often.

It's a level 2 team. One of her daughters triple-teams, so any editing saying the girls with fulls weren't guaranteed a spot on the team is just lying.

Honestly, I tried out for my college team with a forward roll. And it's one of the worst, most embarassing things you can do, I was terrified of being asked to show my tumbling. I got spotted on handsprings, and was asked to do something on my own just like Brooke. I've never been a tumbler and I never will be one, but I'm a good level 6 stunter and made the team and competed NCA College Nationals for 4 years.

There's nothing wrong with executing whatever tumbling you have. She obviously wasn't going to do a back walkover or back bend with her injury and I don't think we should be making fun of her for it.
I was more concerned with the fact that they even asked her to show some tumbling. They know what she can do, they know she has an injury, they were setting her up for embarassment. Who does that?? For T.V.?? I did like they acknowledged her strengths after but she should of never been put in that position in my opinion.

My comment that maybe her mom should find something else for her to do came from the fact she wore volleyball tshirts during the episode more than any cheer shirts. There was absolutely no emotion from the child herself when the doctor told her she could try to tumble, and when she made a Sr 2 team it was like "yeah whatever...".
If my kid absolutely loved what she was doing but wasn't the best at it...but she loved it. I wouldn't think twice about keeping her in.
I'm also not implying that all the athletes on here that weren't the best tumblers should pack up their soffees and take up underwater basket weaving. All I'm saying is she doesn't look even half as into it as her mom. What if she is an amazing volleyball player and she'll never reach her full potential because her mom is wrapped up in the need for her child to be an All Star cheerleader?

I have not watched it yet, however, I have some opinions on it already:

1: SCRIPTED SCRIPTED SCRIPTED - they were told what to do/say/etc and very little was probably candid.
2: I understand this gym may not be as talented as your gym but WOW what poor sportsmanship has been displayed on this thread, leave the gym be and blame TLC for their lack of cheer knowlegde. And posting videos and talking about them negative.. how many times has it been taken down on this board, so please stop, it's not nice. People can be saying the same about you.
3: It's a shame that they got themselves portrayed in this light no matter what the instance. And I hope w/ the fact they "made" someone throw tumbling that it was edited that they don't have, there is more behind the story...
4: Why is everything always about level 5, levels 1-4 and 6 are levels too :)
5: I hope we can get cheerleading portrayed positive as a rebuttal to this apparent Train Wreck TLC has created, however, don't we all LOVE and ADORE the Train Wrecks on TLC.. what would we do w/o them.

OK, I am finished now and off to watch the show :)

I actually don't think the show is bad, just very shocking in how their gym runs. I was most surprised that they let parents on the floor more than anything. Their gym looks like they have lots of talented kids if you really looked at the kids who aren't highlighted. Similar to dance moms in those are the parents who wanted to participate in the shows, so they had to make it a bit dramatic. Ratings won't be high if they get perfect coaches with perfect parents. It's just the reality.

If you read the owners twitter she mentions that they show requested she allow parents on the floor. Before filming this wasn't allowed.
