Recruiting wise for Jamie at GA he doesn't buy people houses and pay them to cheer. All I have seen is him waive tuition and ask the boys to cross compete. I can see how that is fair, but paying a kid and it's family large sums of money is a little crazy recruiting. Honestly I had always known SOMETHING was going on with Johns Creek. Back when it was Panthers, they had the rule that if you didn't cheer on their allstar team, you couldn't cheer on the high school team. I used to cheer with one girl who had cheered at Georgia and she had tried out for Johns Creek. When she refused to cheer for Panthers, she was put on JV. And this girl was good. She had a full, two to full, and was an incredible flyer. So there was definitely stuff going on even years ago!

It was if you didn't cheer for Senior 4 or 5 then you couldn't be on Varsity! Then that coach left to start trinity and the same rules applied, and since thats DEFIINITELY illegal he isn't allowed to coach high school anymore!

Can they send a video tryout even though they didn't attend the year before? My friend moved from HI to SC and sent a skills video to the coach in order to be on the team as soon as she moved. Even if they couldn't try out in person for whatever reason they could have done that :/ maybe, possibly.

Im pretty sure they moved before tryouts! Like i said before her mom got hired there so they moved! Also a lot of schools will take athletes who move over the summer! And my school always had a 2nd tryout the 1st week of school for new students.

I've thought about this more and more and here is the thing-whether you like Jamie or not, this is his job. This is what pays the bills for him, and something that he has dedicated his life to. To have someone come in and take that simply because they have tons and tons of money would leave me a little salty too...
Recruiting happens in every sport, but since we are not a sport, it's a big free for all. If this is how it's going to be and this is the new standard, where is it going to stop? Your dreams of being a gym owner will not be possible if someone else can come in and offer free houses, cars, tuition, scholarships, etc and take everything from you (unless of course you are also in the position to offer these things to them too-obviously, I'm not :()

cheerleading is a sport in georgia high school so it is taken VERY seriously.

THAT same coach is now at GA - SMH

If I'm not mistaken, correct me if I'm wrong but isn't that coaches wife/girlfriend what have you the assistant principal at Johns Creek? I thought I heard they made a rule in GHSA cheer just for her.

Which thread was theirs because I was just looking and all I found was where Jamie had posted on FB and then someone brought it on here. As for the videos of the two "cheerlebrities," most of the judges for that competition have videos so.....

I'm not saying they haven't promted themselves but other then some parents I can't remember the gym itself coming on here. FB and Twitter, yes all the time but you have to like and follow them to get it.

I'm honestly not trying to fight with you, but you asked if people would know about Trinity if Jamie didn't bring it up and I responded yes. Maybe it's just me, but like I said, I don't follow/friend/anything with Jamie. I don't know him, and I don't need to hear anything he has to say because he is nowhere near me, doesn't know me or my gym, and is involved in zero things having to do with me.
When I saw the thread with pictures of the facility, I took notice because hello, it's amazing. The coaches did come on here to clarify things that were being said. If Jamie pointed those things out, great, but I don't think all of this is coming from Jamie. It's coming from the fact that an unknown gym has an amazing facility and amazing cheerleaders. No matter who is running their mouth, people are going to wonder where it came from and how.
Rome wasn't built in a day, and world championship gyms weren't either. You can't blame people for being curious.

Yes but she no longer coaches Johns Creek.

I find it interesting that you don’t see a difference in the principal between the two scenarios. GA didn’t advertise scholarships to boys with level 2 skills. The scholarship offer was only to Worlds caliber athletes (which is not against the rules nor do I see anything wrong with). But it wasn’t done to be charitable – it was done to increase the gym’s chances for a quality World’s team and overall success of the program. If a gym spends a million dollars to house an entire team and waives tuition, competition and travel fees, I see no difference in what either gym is doing. I don’t like it, but it isn’t against USASF rules. Unfortunately, life isn’t fair, and there are gyms all over the country with competitive advantages and disadvantages, whether it be ownership’s personal wealth, or demographics to choose their customers from. Is it fair that a gym in one area has a population base of at least ten times less than a gym in another area to draw their customers from? Is it fair that a gym located in an area with a median income of $250,000 competes against a gym located in an area with a median income of $40,000? It happens everywhere and each gym does what they can to be successful. At the end of the day, most gyms will gain long-term success because of their leadership, not because of their bank account.
Your information is incorrect. The scholarships were given to boys from level 3 - level 5. This is fact!

I didn't think you we're fighting with me - sorry if it seemed that way. Was just curious b/c I don't remember seeing any of the gym staff come on here and wanted to find the post or thread. If they did and I missed it - so be it, no biggie.

You say that I don't see the difference and then state that there isn't a difference in what they are doing lol. I understand though what you mean! But to me what Trinity is doing is different then Jamie just recruiting athletes for his team.
