Can we please talk about this logo...? I'm not sure what gym it is btw.

Seems to be getting quite popular to use that font in this specific way...

The bows are part of the Disney Princess Theme. Amber is Ariel, the yellow is for Belle, another is for Tiana and so on. It looks to me like the photo of Amber was taken after the routine. So the bow is looking kind of rough. But, it fits the theme, and actually looks cute when the hair is arranged right (before the rigors of a L5 routine).
Does everyone get to be a princess? Are some athletes stuck with the CEA colored crown?

Yeah, I'd be pretty darn peeved if my flyer got to be a special Disney princess and I got stuck with an ordinary one. Maybe that's just me LOL.
It'd be really cool if every competition a different member in the stunt group got to wear the colored crown (if it were removable).

I mean, I'd only be jealous of the person with the purple one. That's my color..

Can someone remind me of when the mini, youth and juniors teams have to be in full length tops?? I thought it was next season??

Speaking as a non-flyer mom in the program on a team with a theme..... I'm hoping to lay this to rest.

The Junior Coed 5 (CEA Charlotte location) is also doing a theme where 12 girls have sashes and matching color flip bows (it's a pageant/calendar girl thing and much to my surprise, really worked yesterday!) I'll tell you I was the first to look at that side eye with skepticism. But I kept my mouth shut and put my faith in CSP. She was right. Speaking as the mother of a backspot, my child is not crying herself to sleep at night because she's not a "Ms. [insert month name here]." neither are any of the other girls that I'm aware of. She has a regular CEA bow and no sash. She's fine. She's joked about how she SHOULD be a month girl because her name is also the name of a month (Even CSP's daughter said the same thing)- but she's not actually being serious about that.

I think the Junior kids are seasoned enough athletes at this level to understand if you're going to make a theme like that it's got to be where it's going to be seen and not lost in a very tightly packed choreography of 36 people on the floor. Flyers are focal points anyway so your eye draws there in a stunt, if you want people to "get' the theme, that focal point has to be the one with the theme attached. It has to come across visually because it's not like you can introduce it and explain it before theycompete - the judges have 2:30 to "get" (on their own) what you just did artistically.

On the JC5 the "month girls" with the sashes are basically whoever happens to be the focal point for that particular part of the music/routine (i.e. last pass, point jump, spotlight flyers etc). There are only 12 months so there are 12 girls with sashes and bows.

One thing I've learned (and really appreciate) about our new cheer home, is its about who's getting the job done when it needs to be done. I'm not feeling like this is an "everybody gets a trophy for participation" kind of place......and that's exactly what we've been looking for, for a long time.

My kid barely knows her coach at this point compared to the years she's spent with her others thus far, but she already knows one thing clearly. She knows what CSP expects, she knows that CSP knows who she is and respects and cares about her.....and she knows whether she's wearing a sash or not makes not a bit of difference to either one of them. That's the only thing that matters.
