I'm sorry if I came off brash there. I can see how that would function in dance, but in cheer... Just no. I just thought how insanely revealing briefs would be when one of my girls pulled her bow; or saw that tie in the back getting caught when someone full-downs or I have to spot their tumbling and the top coming loose. I can definitely understand this look for dance, though maybe not the execution of it. But, in my (very limited) experience with dance the clothing aims for beauty/cuteness/elegance while cheerwear aims more for athleticism/uniformity/fierceness.

Anywho, all that to say, I'm sorry and I really didn't mean to offend anyone! Please don't hate me! <3
Honestly, I think it is totally nonfunctional for dance as well. My 10 year old wouldn't be comfortable dancing in that. High kicks are going to look just as bad as a bow, and CP tumbles frequently at dance, and does lifts. It is just a wardrobe malfunction waiting to happen, and there is no way to wear appropriate undergarments.

Cp's mini team has briefs under their uni skirt, which is pretty short as well. I cringe when when she is flying because the coverage is so minimal. I plan on begging for boyshorts this season

Not all star so I apologize but I just didn't feel like posting a whole new thread in the college section, but here's my school's practice wear that I designed :) It's pretty simple, but it gets the job done.

I think the grey one will be with black shorts and the black shirt with green shorts.

My CPs uniforms had built in briefs. I made them wear Nike Pros underneath because otherwise there was too much to see, even during jumps and dance. Crotch shots are one of my biggest pet peeves!

I don't think it was brash at all and I'm the mom of the owner of this practice wear! While this is gorgeous ,it's just not practical for 12 and up in cheer or dance. My cp (who is also a dancer) has not only technique and turns in her dances, but has many times when she tumbles (front and side aerials,BHS layout step outs, tucks, front & back walkovers,bridges,BHS...ect), but she gets lifted in many dances,jumps,leaps...the list just goes on and on. I think it's just not enough coverage on the top or bottom for girls. Dance does aim for more of elegant, pretty look, but nowadays they are also looking for athleticism and fierceness as well.

I also think it's good for those in the cheer world to see, because of the way,the cheer and dance world interchange ideas;if someone would've told me 2 years ago, that I was basically buying a swimsuit for my daughter to dance in,I would have laughed out loud, but here I am,buying a swimsuit. And you can not tell me ,some of these new uniform/practice wear, has made you shake your head and not believe it someone would actually put it on a person.....but someone did and some kid is walking around in something crazy.

Just sayin'. ;-)

Edited to add: Can't get the image to show, but it's a picture of Gabby Douglas on the uneven bars.

Cp's had built in boy shorts and still wore Nike pros under it. It was a comfort/coverage issue, plus made it much easier to change out of the skirt and into warmups as soon as she was finished if she had a long time before her second team competed or awards.

Glad mines not the only one. She wears nike pros under her built in uniform briefs too. The team almost dissolved into tears when they were told they couldn't wear them (it did look odd because they were all wearing black nike pros and the briefs were sparkly teal). Mine actually wears nike pros as a basic undergarment for pretty much everything these days. Jeans, skirts, dresses etc....all have nike pros underneath.

Yes, we have many a Sweet 16 picture with cp and cheer friends flashing those Nike Pros...8th grade dance too! I'm pretty sure they will be under the skater skirt at graduation tonight.

In what world is this cheer practicewear? It looks more like an over-the-top swimsuit for a 6 year-old. For the love of all things decent I would never even suggest something like this, lol.

The top somewhat reminds me of Cheers and More one sleeved, backless top that their senior 5 had last season.
