I don't even know if I want to keep going to practices. I tumble on the track most of the time and I really feel like I'm not part of the team anymore. Like if I wasn't conditioning and tumbling on my own, id be sitting down the whole time. Like do I really want to be spending all this money to do literally nothing, and be banking on one of the girls on the team getting hurt badly enough that I might get a chance to be on the floor..?

):<. Someone tell me what to do.

I went to high school with this guy and his home was broken into the other day. They stole an iPad, and a tablet and other devices including items of his 12 year old sister who died of brain cancer last year.

Anyway, the person who stole it took a selfie with the iPad or tablet and posted it on the dad's facebook!!!! She never logged out of his facebook before posting it! The idiot has been identified and is being looked for.

Like can that please go on America's dumbest criminals or something?

Someone made a meme of the selfie :

Even the puppy looks embarrassed to be involved in that. Hopefully they catch the the people who did it and your friend's family gets all their belongings back including the sentimental stuff.

[cut out for space]

is it bad I had a mental image of what I imagined the perp to look like before I even got to the picture...which was dead on? :wasntme:

a benefit of small-town Maine is that someone definitely knows who this person is...she'll be caught in no time.

Sooo I've been apartment hunting for the past few months, trying to get an idea of location, price range, distance from school and work and I think I've found a place, I really love it. Not that big.. around 650 sq ft but it'll just be me living there and I don't need alot of space. Anyways, I've budgeted everything out, and I'll end up with $200 for groceries, now I'm a beginner cook and can make some simple meals, anyone have tips on cheap grocery shopping and quick and cheap meals that are good?

frozen fruit and vegetables are significantly cheaper and the frozen stuff usually has more vitamins since it's flash frozen when it's ripe vs purposely being picked too soon and being shipped somewhere.

that's my tip. I live alone and probably spend $100 to $150 monthly on groceries. I do a majority of my shopping at BJ's because produce/chicken/yogurt/eggs makes up 90% of my diet. Warning though, buying in bulk may seem cheaper at times, but really think about how much you can eat. I've thrown out many things that I shouldn't have because I overestimated how much I could eat v. how fast it spoils. My grandparents paid for my club membership as part of some holiday gift so if you think that's a good option for you look into it!

oh, also, learn to love rotisserie chickens. seriously life savers when the semester gets crazy. I'll have chicken and a green veggie/mashed potatoes one night and then shred the excess for chicken salad for lunch the next day. occasionally I'll boil the bones and make a broth and put the extra chicken in there and any random veggies I have on hand for a quick soup (or you can just buy broth lol I'm weird.)

Crustless quiches are simple to make and wicked cheap. And you can put anything you want in them. Homemade soup and chili are easy and cheap too. Invest in a crock pot, they are like $30 max at walmart. You literally throw everything in there at once, turn the heat on and let it cook for a couple of hours. Seriously the easiest thing ever.

Try to get as much as you can at the dollar store. They surprisingly have a good selection. I've seen frozen fruit and veggies there, breakfast sandwiches, Sargento shredded cheese, chips and crackers up the wazoo, tuna, condiments, etc. Look for coupons at your local supermarket, buy things when they are on sale if you know it's something you use a lot, price compare, price compare, price compare! Prepared foods will usually cost more than non prepared. Like a head of lettuce at Price Chopper costs $1.19 while a bag of salad mix is $2-$3. And the head of lettuce will last longer. A bag of regular carrots will cost less than a bag of baby carrots. And Orange juice from concentrate will usually cost less than OJ in the carton. Making your own salad dressing will be less money and you know what actually goes into it. Cutting out meat for a couple of meals a week will cut down on costs! njallday brought up a good point - learn how much you will actually eat so you don't throw food and money away.

@njallday - $100-$150 a month? For all that? That's legit insane. Is BJ's really that cheap?

I actually got 5 pounds of organic chicken breast for $15 today! super excited about that! lol if you like the produce that's in season, yes it's possible. In the summer there were 3 lb containers of blueberries for like $2 it was nuts. I am also the queen of the freezer, so if things are on sale, I'll spend more that month and freeze it for later so the $100 is more of a yearly/monthly average. the 2 dozen packs of eggs are about the same price as one dozen from wegmans. I also love the stony field yogurt smoothies and have one with breakfast everyday and they're about half the price at BJ's as well.

majority of my diet is organic (not necessary, I know, but I'm a nut) so when you compare the organic prices, BJ's wins every time. I think I am the only 24 year old girl who lives alone who goes to BJ's every week.

Dang girl. I'd love to shop at BJ's but I don't have the space for all that stuff right now. I actually need to learn how to extreme coupon.

I do the freezer thing too as much as I can. Fresh strawberries and blackberries were $2 a carton this week so I bought 4 and froze them all. That's a crazy price for being off season! They weren't as good as they are in season but throw them in a smoothie or salad and you'll never know the difference :p and I'm hardcore missing NY strawberries. I think when they are in season next, I'm gonna drive home, pick 16 pounds of them and bring them back to freeze them all. I am addicted to strawberries.
